According to VisaJourney my application was supposed to be reviewed by the end of September, however, now when I log in it's saying the end of October. For obvious reasons I find this distressing. Does anyone know why the processing time has changed by a month?

Thank you.

Welcome to the forum.

There are numerous reasons, including, but not limited to:

  • slowdown at the service center processing your petition,
  • more forum members have correctly inputted the correct information into their timelines, i.e., correction of wrong service center,
  • more forum members have joined and inputted their information, hence more numbers of respondents make the site's statistics more relevant.

There are likely others, to find other reasons check recent threads at this forum and at K-1 Progress Reports....

Good luck on your visa journey.

But yet VisaJourney usually has a better idea of when you might receive your approval then a phone call to USCIS.....

Our petition is in Vermont as well. 198 days and still waiting. We didn't get any kind of activity until 8/1, exactly 6 months. And it was an RFE. I watched the dates on the VJ timeline quite a bit ... and was very hopeful when the dates it said for us in early June were approaching.. then they came...and they went. The dates kept pushing out every few days but always behind the acutal calendar dates. The timelines are only as good as the data people put in, and I'm not sure that it defines things more by Visa type or by service center. I don't look anymore. Hang in there, we'll all make it eventually.

It's very true. My original timeline said July 17th. Now it says September 3rd. Very disheartening. The only good thing is that time keeps marching on, and that means one day closer.
