129-f error

I recently realized I made an error on the 129-f form for K-1 Visa. I included the name of the daughter of my finacee on the 129-f section for children who are also immigrating. Unfortunately, I incorrectly assumed her daughter had the same last name as her mother. It is the custom in Ukraine to take father's name for children regardless of their participation in child's life. Do I need to modify 129-f form? If so, how does one go about modifying a submitted goverment form? The form was submitted 4/20/12 nd is now at the Vermont processing center pending NOA2. I'd appreciate a little help - Jim

There is really no way to change the form. I would call them ASAP and talk to them. Not sure what will be the impact but it may delay your case and you may need to refile. Since if you made a mistake on I-129 you probably made a mistake on G-325A as well.

Thank you for the advice to call them.

You can also schedule an InfoPass appointment with your local USCIS office so you can talk to someone in person :)

Not really an issue. The InfoPass appointment may work or merely send your fiancee a revised form she can give to the CO at her interview.

Many thanks! This is very useful information.

It's a slow go when lovers are waiting on the government. I am sure it is more strssful for the lady in Ukraine, Elena.

Not a problem. When she applies for the visa you can correct it. It is not a material issue for petition issuance and you will have documentation she is your fiancee's daughter. Correct it at the interview. Sleep well.

Info pass is a complete waste of time. Local officesa have nothing to do with petition approval or visa issuance. Correct it at the interview.
