I had my interview last Monday based on the 3 years, married with a U.S citizen. (I've been a permanent residence since 05-2009). After I took the oath to tell the truth, the IO asked for my driver's license, and my green card, I gave it to her and she started asking my name, dob, if a wanted to change my name (I said no), and then she was asking questions about my wife, her name, where does she work? How much do we pay the rent per month? how many hours does she work? how do we met? where?, how is my relationship with her son? (he is 22), if he is leaving with us? I answered every thing, then she said you have a many bank accounts (we have 2 checking accounts in 2 different banks but with both names on it) and I said the more we got in both names is the best right?, and she didn't say anything, then she was looking the bunch of papers that she got from me, just passing the papers looking for something or just passing them, then she started with the civic questions, and I answered good the first 6, she told me to read a sentence and in another paper write the answer, all that, was a piece of cake. She took my D'L and my green card and said I'm going to make a copy, that she'll be back soon, she came back after 30 seconds, and made sign the n400. She made me sign a separate paper about if my information on the paper saying my name, DOB was correct because that will be for the certification of naturalization, and I said yes, is correct. I remember I signed twice in the 400 form, then she handed me the paper that it says that you pass the civic questions pretty good, but that a decision can not be made at that time. She said if I need something I'll let you know. I was so frustrated that day, because I saw other people getting their oaths the same day. After 2 days I received an update on my email, saying that they sent me a letter for lack of evidence. I received a letter from the IO, the next day, asking me for more evidence basically from my wife: like her last 2 pay-stubs, 3 affidavits from friends or family, that our marriage is real, even a affidavit from my wife that how do we met the first time, copies of certification of birth from both of us, pictures with date and and the events, and the more strange evidence that it says on the letter, it's the Form G325B Biographic Information for both of them. I checked that form and there are 2 parts. the first part is about personal information, name, places where you live and work and something like that, but on the second part looks like for military purposes if we were working in the navy or military before, and we don't know how to do that part or if we have lo leave it blank. I google it that form and usually is for people that are working or used to work in the military navy, marines, and me and my wife we never work for them. I didn't know my application had red flags, but for us is not a problem to get the evidence that they are asking (we have all of them) but the form g325b the second part we need some help, I think we have to leave it in blank, but the weird think about that form is that they don't ask for signatures.

The IO looks like her 22-26, very young, and I'm not an expert in people but I can say, she has no many experience, or maybe I’m wrong about that. She looked like she didn't review my huge stack of evidence before (almost 5 inches) she was educate, professional and polite too.

I need some help for that form of how can we do it guys. Thanks a lot.

Anyone one with a similar experience? I doubt that.

Never leave a form blank, if it is NA then put in NA.

We are not going to leave it completed blank. We'll put our names, works, addresses, an all that, but the part where it says : OTHER AGENCY, I think below that we have to leave it in blank because we never been in the military or navy or anything like that.

Somebody knows about that second part, how to do it? or that part has to be filled by them?

when dealing with any of their forms always fill out everything even if it is only to put none or n/a

just my opinion

It looks like this IO was in I-751 mode a little too much or your file did not contain enough evidence of marriage indeed. Did you go through the I-751 process as well or did you obtain the GC through another route and got married around the same time? I can imagine they need more information if you didn't have to go through I-751 and apply for citizenship based on marriage three years later.

Did you have 3 years of tax returns married filling jointly? If not (I assume this because you have not mentioned those even once in your post), it is not surprising that the IO was in the I-751 mode and asked for all these other things.

+1

+

rental lease in both our names

joint car insurance policy

joint home renters insurance policy

what else do you have in both your names?

Since you mentioned your wife has a 22 year old son, I am wondering,"Is there a major age gap between you and your spouse?" Although, such questions are expected during AOS or ROC, there isn't any law against grilling you during N-400, if they are still suspicious of your marriage.

About filling our certain parts in the forms that you mentioned, if it doesn't apply to you, simply put N/A in those sections. These are general forms, and not everything would apply to your case. I don't think you should be alarmed, unless you answered something that did not match your previous statements and raised a red-flag. Good Luck!

How did you arrive in the USA, and what visa ?

what visa did you hold when you first applied for the Adjustment of Status to get the first 2 year green card?

I ask, because the IO has some sense of what's what, what you've done prior...

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

You are completely right about one thing, She was more focus on my I-751, Or I would say on my I-485 also. I sent a lot of evidence (I saw, my documentation in her desk, and the size of the documents was like 5 inches hight. I sent, taxes (w2s included) with both names from the last 4 years, medical insurance from both of us, lease of the last 4 years, utility bills such us, electric bill, water bill, satellite bill, telephone bill, leases of the past 4 years, 2 bank accounts with both names, from all those years, transcripts of the last 4 years ( I asked the IO, on the interview, if she wanted the transcripts and she told me to give her the ones from the last 2 years), retirement plan from both of us, affidavits of friends (these affidavits I sent them on my I-751) . I think I sent more evidence that many other persons, and everything in both names.

I arrived with a tourist visa, and that's one thing she asked me too, She asked from where I entered to the USA, and what kind of visa, and I told her from miami, and I had a tourist visa at that time, but come on, she had my passport in her hand and she didn't noticed that? she just check my name on my passport and that was it, she could have seen that.

I sent the last 4 years of our taxes filling jointly (with w2's included). And at the interview she asked me for the last 2 years of the transcripts, and I gave them to her. I told her if she wanted the last 4 years transcripts and she said only the last 2 I need.
