So, what kind of visa's or status's have A# assigned?

I have H1B even i don't have Alien number, and i'll put NONE (where it ask for A#).

VJers who already went thro' the process please clarify.

Thanks !

The A# is actually on your NOA H-1B I-94, not the visa. I have an NOA for my H-1B (adjusted status from F-1) and there is an A# on there. I used that.

I'm currently looking through my 1-94 & I-20, and cannot find a A# on either one of them. My guess is mrs_gonzo is right. F1 holders aren't given these numbers. But if you do find it, please share ...

An F-1 is a nonimmigrant visa so you will not have any A# associated with it.

You're talking about I-797 right?

I can see receipt number, I-94 # but couldn't see A# under I-94 section at bottom.

Could you pls let me know which one is A#?

Thanks !

It is my understanding from reports on here that contrary to the maxim that your A# is yours for life, that the F-1 OPT A# that people put on their AOS forms gets changed anyway to something different (or they are given a new one for AOS). I am not sure about the whys of this, but you can put that A# on your forms, but don't be surprised if it changes over the course of your AOS.

AOS for my husband

And where USC should see the Alien#? (sorry for dumb question)

She (USC, my wife) was naturalized after gaining citizenship thro' her father.

Also, naturalization certificate mandatory or passport copy can be used in place of that?

If she couldn't find her naturalization certificate, from where we can get new naturalization certificate or just naturalization certificate number?

Thanks !

A naturalised US citizen's alien number will be printed on their certificate of naturalisation. Since an alien number is issued for life, it would also be the same alien number that was listed on their EAD, green card or receipts for any of those applications.
