I wanted to know what you all thought, based on as much facts as possible, as to my possible situation.

What I'm looking to do is go to the Philippines to be with my Fiance until we can leave together once she receives her K1; I'm also wanting to get out of my state and move to a better state once my fiance and I are together here in the US. I don't know if my job will give me the time off we need after we receive our NOA2 though; so if my job won't give me the time I need off, I'm considering resigning from my job and using my mother as a co-sponsor. I was in college and training programs last year, and I could only work part-time. So I'm hoping US Embassy of Manila would still grant the K1 visa and once we came here, I would want to move to another state and find a new job, because I really want to leave my home state anyhow due to the huge tax increases and hardships going on here - otherwise I'd just keep my current job.

I'd appreciate anyone's opinion and thoughts on this, thanks!

If you have a joint sponsor that covers the income requirements, then your income (or lack there of) does not matter one bit. Odds are if you are taking that much time off (I assume months) it is not paid which would actually require you to have a joint sponsor anyway as you need to prove your current and future income will meet the requirement. Since it sounds like you are young it will be critical for you to have recent pay stubs which you would not have if you go when you get the NOA2.

There are 2 fears here I would think of. Loss of Employment & The Philippines maynot accept a Co-Sponsor. DOUBLE WAMY! A Post above indicated: Keep your job.. I have to agree.

Yep....very true! I believe that Manila is NOT accepting co-sponsers for the K-1 visa.

Manila is one of the embassies that does not readily accept joint sponsors for the K petition.

If your current job meets the income requirements for sponsorship I suggest that you remain with that job so that you don't end up disappointed at Manila.

In any other country, I;d say go ahead as long as your mom is well qualified as co-sponsor. However, Manila is extremely iffy on co-sponsors, they usually deny K1 with co-sponsors, so I would strongly recommend you remain in your job so you can sponsor your fiance yourself.

Head to North Dakota....modern day gold rush going on with oil.....can't even get a house built there because the construction workers left to start working the oil fields for more pay. Lots of jobs in the 6 figures if you are willing to move and work hard.

Yeah.....actually, I have been seriously considering that option.

I have a few places I'm considering. I'm a CNA working on my RN, and my Fiance is a RN, and we both have a lot of experience in the field, so we would have no issues finding work anywhere we move to, so I'm not concerned about quitting my job if I had to. I also have a good savings. But generally, I do agree with you all, it's always best to have a job lined about before leaving a current job, but that doesn't always work too well if you're trying to move out of state and build a new life.

My only issue is what the US Embassy of Manila would decide if I was unemployed, and it does seem that it wouldn't go over wlel with them, compared to most other locations. Oh well... I guess I'll have to figure out something else.

K1 visa does not accept Co-Sponsor. You must have an income to petition your fiance.

Another option is: If you plan to move to Philippines "temporarily" - I suggest you inquire about DCF. You must be a USC to do this and living abroad for 6 months. Get married here, and then petition her. Now you can use the Co-Sponsor since you will not be working when you get here, I assume.

There are Threads here for DCF. Please research that. http://www.visajourney.com/content/dcf
