Crossed at the Zaragoza bridge. I went with my wife into the room where they process the boarder crossing documents. Took about 20 minutes to process at 10 AM and then crossed. Very easy and was quicker to cross for my wife and I than those crossing normally as the normal line was very long. |

My wife performed the Biometrics in Mexico City on August 2nd. That process went very fast, we only had one issue with the website not allowing us to schedule the appointment so I had to call to schedule.
My wife and I arrived in Juarez on Saturday and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. We chose this hotel since we were able to use points for our stay.
Since the visa appt was Tuesday, we went to clinic for the Medical Exam at 5 AM on Monday (went to the white clinic building as recommended by the Hotel). When we got there they let us right in. I was expecting to wait outside a bit till they started but since they were starting so early I went back to the Hotel to wait. My wife said they started the exam well before 6 AM, and she had to remove all clothes for the exam, she even asked for clarification as we thought she would keep underwear on. They gave her 3 vaccininations, made her pay $370.90 (third to pay for the day) and out the door. On her way out there were people coming over from the other clinic that were in line very early that the other clinic were not able to process that day. My wife was back to the hotel room shortly after 7 AM. We went back to pick-up results at 2 PM, as we were walking in we heard her name being called so she picked them up, results good and we left. Process was better than going to some local doctors.
Visa appt was 7:15 on Tuesday, I walked with my wife at 6 AM to the consulate helping her carry some of the documents, went back to the hotel when she entered the consulate. We perhaps went a little over the top on documents as I had her take 2 photo albums, tax returns (only submitted 1 year with AOS), pay stubs, life and health insurance documents, plane tickets etc for our travels in Europe, bank statements, credit card statements where she is an authorized user, purchase documents for engagement ring and invoices for our wedding in the US. In the consulate 3 people made jokes at my wife for having so many documents as she was barely able to carry it all (we spent a lot of time studying each day as well). In the interview only 3 questions for my wife.
1. Petitioner's Name
2. Where do you intend to live
3. How we met
Very quick, the lady said approved, my wife said "That's it" and the lady doing the interview laughed. We were a bit disappointed that no questions were asked that the paperwork was needed for.
Our biggest concern through the process was actually not getting the approval but getting the documents to cross the border before I needed to leave for work. I drove to El Paso instead of flying so we would have flexibility to leave and if we received the documents early we could do a mini vacation on the return home. On Wednesday early evening, we logged in and the waybill number was there and was already at the DHL office for pick-up.
Thursday morning, went to pick the visa up and crossed at Zaragoza, one journey ends, and a new chapter starts. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
