Hey All.....we received our NOA for filing last week, it has a date of 7/24.....we also received the biometrics letter on the same day which were to be completed on 8/23.......however, since my husband has a strong chance of being out of state due to work for the whole month of September, and since (according to VJ) that may be the time of most of our interviews, we took a chance this morning and went to do early biometrics....they allowed him to do it...so we have an early biometrics date of 7/30....but don't change the format due to us....so not sure which date you want to put in the chart.....

So, not sure if doing them early will in turn allow the interview to be earlier than normal or not.....but we decided to try since we didn't want to miss that interview. I read a lot of threads in the forums before we decided to do this.....it seemed to be a 50/50 shot....so we tried. We are using the Norfolk, VA local office and they are not as busy as some of the other places I've heard about......

So, on that note, can someone please update us? Thanks!!!!!

I just received an email saying that I have been scheduled for fingerprints.

"On July 30, 2012, we mailed you an appointment notice to have your fingerprints taken. Please follow the instructions on the notice. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283."

I plan on going as soon as I get the notice in the mail.

Just got the Biometrics letter in the mail. System said it was mailed out on 7/25, but my appointment date is not until 08/22 at the Alexandria, VA office.

Thread admin, please update.

What's early bio? Are we able to drop by at an earlier date and get the biometrics done? Will this speed up the process? I'm hoping to be able to vote this year.

I've also received my IRS transcripts which I requested online. I got a momentary heart attack when I saw the letters from IRS but then I remembered I had applied for transcripts lol. Anyways, I think it took them about 7 business days which I thought was quite efficient.

If ASC is not busy, you can usually do walk-in biometrics at an earlier date. Most people on VJ forums do not think early biometrics will speed up N-400 process. However many people do early biometrics because of schedule conflict, etc.

Thanks for the info. I googled up walk-ins at the Alexandria, VA ASC and found many positive comments on how quiet this ASC is and how easy is it to get a walk-in done. I will attempt a walk-in this week.

We are presently traveling and contacted USCIS this morning to obtain our case number and the officer told us that the bio appointment letter had been sent and gave us the date. She was efficient, courteous, and helpful.
