Finally got a text stating that status has been updated. As of Nov 1, have been scheduled for interview. It took exactly 3 months to move from " in line to be scheduled" to actually being scheduled. How long do you think it will be to get the actual letter stating time of interview?

Me too! Woo-hoo, it seems the Chicago office started moving again! After about two and a half months of inactivity, my online status now says "scheduled for interview as of November 1". Still have not received the actual letter with the date in the mail yet. However, I am glad that at least some progress is happenning. Can't believe it took them so long, Chicago office is the last one on the list to schedule interviews this time of the year...

After 3 months of inactivity since fingerprinting, I ask my local senator office to help inquire about my status. Well long and behold, USCIS cannot located my "A" file (I assume this is my alien file), and regulations require them to request for this file 3 times. As of today, they are on their third attempt and was told that I will have my interview early December.

Thanks LA80 we are almost there one last push then we are there, then no more worries ....

we all Flying tiger, LA80 and me have in this month...., one thing i am happy that all the stress on my shoulder is finished....Havala, LA80 best of luck on your Oath....

I think you need to make a infopass to your local office , once you do that they will open your file.....hope that help

My husband had his interview today. Everything went fine, except the interviewer said they were still waiting for the background check to be complete. She recommended him for approval, but I guess we still have to wait for the security check before they give the final approval. Anyone have any idea how long that could take?

Has anyone heard of this happening?

Here is an update from our last post (quoted above). My husband got a call from the interviewing officer today. She said he forgot to sign something during the interview and could he please come by to sign it. We got in the car and were in San Francisco half an hour later. The interviewing officer met us in the waiting room immediately upon our arrival and showed us into her office. She had my husband sign the N400 in one of the places that you are supposed to sign at the interview, and then said the application was complete and to expect the letter for the oath ceremony in the mail! I asked if that meant the background check had been completed, and she said that it was. Phew! Looks like he is on track to become a US Citizen soon!

Congratulations on the upcoming oath letter!

I guess your husband forgot to sign Part 14 of N400 (at bottom of last page)?

He forgot to sign Part 13 (where you swear that everything is true and correct), and skipped right to Part 14 (the oath part). Oops!

We were just happy that we live close enough to run up there and get it taken care of quickly!
