yes he is my sponsor

Do you have something from his employer saying what he'll be making?

I'm a little confused by your post, but basically I think you need to bring proof of his income, from whatever source. So if I were you, I'd bring evidence of the unemployment checks and a letter from his employer.

I don't think the lack of cash in his accounts matters, as long as you can prove his income. Does that help?

i still have his original employment certificate which a copy i sent with my aos papers stating how much he's currently earning...i just worry what to show to io incase he'll ask for the joint bank statement and paystub which will show nothing in there but i keep copy of unemployment check....

I'm slightly confused. You say he works full time, yet you say he is getting unemployment. Which is the case?

It doesn't matter if he has money in his bank account if he isn't trying to qualify based on assets. As long as he earns above 125% of the poverty guidelines and has proof of that (letter from his employer and last year's tax return, as well as recent paystubs if last years tax return doesn't show that income), then it doesn't matter what is in his account. If he was making that amount and now isn't, that's a separate issue.

so he's currently unemployed because of the medical ailment or the plant temporarily shutting down?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

All you need is his last three years tax documentation. YOu will need a letter from the plant where he was working stating the facts you are telling us:

1) he was gainfully employeed from January 1, 2012 until ________________whatever date you stated

2) he was laid-off due to a summer plant shut down and is currently drawing his unemployment compensation.

3) Then have the letter state your husband will be called back to work during the months of August 2012.

Next, you will need to go to the unemployment office and ask for a print out of your husbands "BENEFITS" paid out thus far. Get your husband to write you a letter stating he is in the hospital but needs this print out. He can send his drivers license and SS card with your for the print out or you may be able to print it straight off of their website. Call them first.

Take your joint bank account information even with the low balances. If the interviewing officer asks about the low balance, tell them your balance is low because you husband had surgery during the down time he knew he had coming this summer so that when work began again, he would not miss time from work.

He is showing responsibility and also still has income coming in. If he makes the amount you stated and there is no one but you and him, he easily meets the requirement to support you.

Hope this helps!
