"The I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you"

As some of you know my husbands I-130 case was transfered to my local USCIS office for additional processing and for an interview.

I had the interview today, they asked me to bring evidence of our relationship. I brought alot of evidence with me pictures, insurance, rental agreements, car titles, etc.

I walked into the officers office where my interview was going to be held. I dont even know how to explain this. He didnt even bother opening the envelope I had with all the evidence of our relationship. All he did was was asked me where my husband was. I told him he is Mexico and has been in Mexico since august. He asked me if he had been deported. I answered "NO HE HAS NEVER BEEN DEPORTED, HE LEFT ON ITS OWN DUE TO FAMILY ISSUES".

he said to me that he didnt find a deportation on his record, but he wanted to ask me.

he said he was going to approve my husbands petition before he goes home today  and that he was going to send it to the National Visa Center.

of course I havent received an aproval letter yet. But I guess my husbands 1-130 is now approved  I'm so happy .

I do have one question though. since my case will now be at the National Visa Center, what should I expect next and how long is the wait at the NVC?

THANK YOU FOR YOUR RESPONSES :)

Congrats!!

I know for us once NVC received our stuff from USCIS and we enrolled in electronic processing the whole process took about 3 1/2 months, but with our case NVC goofed up a couple of things and it took about 3 weeks longer then it should have.

wow!! congratulations!! recently nvc is backlogged.. it takes awhile to get a case number, others wait for 2weeks up to a month. you'll be lucky to finish the nvc process in a month..but realistically it would be 2-3mos if there's no rfe's/checklists.. make sure all documents are all set:) good luck:)
