It's been over a week and CSC has not confirmed receipt of my RFE reply which was sent with deliverly confirmation. I made a color scan of every page of my RFE and I am wondering if I do not receive confirmation by the end of the week, if I can print a copy from my scans and resend it.

Did you request delivery confirmation via the USPS or whomever you used to submit it?

Yes, as stated in my question and in my signature timeline, it was sent with delivery confirmation, USPS has confirmed delivery, but USCIS has not confirmed recept, and it's been over a week.

Since you know it was received from the USPS confirmation, give it some time. It took 2 weeks for my RFE notification and 2 weeks for me to receive the hard copy NOA2. Things are not fast at CSC - they receive thousands of pieces of mail daily and you have to allow time for everything to be entered and updated.

"Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated as early as November 6, 2006* (this includes an estimated 10 day delay for your RFE)."

That is a quote from my timeline in Visa Journey, but I think the delay of an RFE is much longer if I figure how long it took for them to actually send the RFE, me to receive it, reply, aknowledge receipt and then to actually start working on my case again...

I don't understand why the timelines track RFE's but you can't do an advanced timeline search regarding RFE's to get a more accurate estimate of how long an RFE actually delays your case. I think the 10 days is WAY understated. It's probably more like a 30 day delay.

So many petitions were approved around the same time, and instead of NOA2 on the 29th, I got an RFE. I estimate the delay of an RFE to be closer to 30 days, and that is only if they accept my RFE reply and actually approve my case before October 29th, which at this point, is questionable.

Bill

PS I'm still wonderig if anyone has ever tried to send a copy of the RFE in to CSC when a reply has been lost. The instructions say to attach that blue paper to the TOP of your reply, and I have a scanned copy of that. Has anyone ever tried this?

Bill, I made a color copy of mine as well but I wouldn't panic just yet. I'd give them at least 10 business...last Monday was a holiday. :)

Hi Bill,

Glad to hear that CSC did receive your RFE, we are also waiting for their acknowledgment of ours -we sent it back on Wednesday and USPS confirmed its receipt on Thursday by CSC, but nothing official from them yet.

Also, I don't think you should put too much attention to the timelines right now. I think IMBRA messed them up a lot- including RFE processing times since USCIS had to send out so many; and they won't be quite accurate until all of us early filers are out.

BTW this is what ours say :P

"Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated as early as June 20, 2006*"

Hope you get your NOA2 soon!!

What I did was call the main USCIS 800 number and selected the option that I had received an RFE and had a question about it, and instead of getting the usual gerneral info person, I actually got transferred to someone at the CSC - you might try doing the same thing. Someone else recently received thier NOA2 and never even got a 'touch' since returning their RFE.
