How many photos is enough ?

Dumb question I know... But how many photos is enough for evidence? We have a lot of photos and they all show us both in the photo together. Just don't wanna send too many or not enough. Thoughts?!

I think 6 -8 is the perfect number.Different locations and clothing. With you together with family and friends also helps but just the two of you will work fine if that's all you have. Make sure to send plenty to the interview.

Photos are secondary evidence. USCIS won't care about them. The number that you send may depend on how difficult your consulate is known to be.

OP is sending pics to help his/her petition get approved at USCIS. what that has to do with the consulate???

when she goes for her interview she can read all about the consulate and take as much pictures as he/she desires even if its 10 albums its their right.

In fact, every previous response in this thread was an indication of incomplete thinking. Please be more aware of the system and of the big picture.

For petition approval, USCIS requires NO photos as evidence. Photos are secondary evidence. However, some consulates are known for not accepting evidence brought to visa interviews. It therefore behooves filers of K-1 or CR-1 petitions to include evidence that the consulate will see after USCIS sends the approved petition package to the consulate in preparation for the visa-interview process. This is called front-loading, and there are dozens of threads about it. The consulates are not supposed to refuse visas on the basis of evidence that USCIS has seen.

The OP didn't say which consulate he'd be dealing with, but if it's Australia, that's normally not a difficult one at all.

Hi guys, sorry if I've caused any problem. But to clarify, I was aiming to send a few photos with the initial petition. My consulate will be the Sydney one. I'll be taking other evidence with me to the consulate at interview date yeh? More photos, passport stamps, flight itineraries, letters etc... Will the Sydney consulate accept these when the interview happens?

Personally what I did was two photos per visit of the both of us within the previous two years. On the back of the photo write in capitals where the photo was taken, date and signed by the petitioner and alien fiancee.

I submitted evidence of 4 trips, therefore I inserted 8 photographs of each other.

yes Aussie when you get your interview you can take all your evidence with you.

as for this initial packet send a few good pictures like i suggested earlier. It can only help your case. good luck.

The advice in my posts is not new at all; it's been put forth here over a period of years by posters who know what they're talking about... and who read the guides and the form instructions.

Some people prefer to shoot their gun up in the air and hope that a duck might be flying overhead right about then. Others prepare in accordance with the worst possible situation down the road and either fend off trouble before it happens or are better able to handle it when it does.

OP, the Sydney consulate is typically very respectful of interviewees and will accept evidence that is brought to the interview. If you wish to include a few photos with your K-1 petition package (not too many -- a couple up to perhaps half a dozen), go right ahead. These can be in any format. Some people tape two or three or four photo prints to a page. The photos don't need to be signed, but you're welcome to indicate where and when they were taken. For USCIS's purposes, be sure to include copies of your passport pages, baggage tags, receipts, etc. that indicate at least one visit between you and your fiancee within 2 years of your filing the K-1 petition.

For others who are reading, it's advisable and often crucial to front-load the K-1 or CR-1 petition package for the benefit of your consular experience later. Read the Reviews and Embassy Info (atop every VJ page) for your consulate, and attend particularly to the worst experiences of people who have gone before you. I do not think TBone is being silly at all. He is advising that many consulates only look at what is in the petition and many times seem to have their decision predetermined before the interviewee gets there. So for example in the Moroccan consulate it is very necessary to front load the original petition with all the proof you can because this may be the only chance they give you to do so because, by talking to other people from this consulate and reading here on Visa Journey, many times they will not even look at anything you bring with you to the interview. I felt his advise was very beneficial to read.

I feel that the best thing to do is look at what others have posted about each individual consulate and make your decision on how many picture you send from that information.

I actually decided to front load after consulting with the forum. While I felt better about front loading and it is more expensive with the copying, I weighed on the fact that Manila is the consulate. Philippines has tons of red tape which makes my application vulnerable to other people's mistakes. As many have pointed out on this forum, you are at the mercy of the IO. I wouldn't want to leave it chance to delay my love one from coming here.

While I front loaded, I had to still weed out a lot of unnecessary evidence: quality over quantity. That means it is hard to put a ball park on the photos. Just use reasonable judgment to prove that you met in person within two years of the filing. As for me, I am confident that I will be approved by the USCIS, but I worry about the consulates. Their decisions are subjective. Any mistakes on their part is a delay on my part.
