NVC got my case...but no case number assigned yet

Hello everyone...here i am again.

So, the NVC already got our documents, but still no case number assigned.

When will the case number be assigned? When are they going to send the package for Chris and I? Do they send the package with all the documents for my husband and I? Do they do that through email or normal mail service?

Thank you in advance for all your help with my questions.

My case was received at NVC on May 21st as well and JUST got a case number on the 7th of June. Hold in there. Call every day and one day instead of telling you 'you need to allow 10-20 business days' they will ask for your and the beneficiary's full name and DOB then you can give them your emails and the ball will be rolling. You can receive all correspondence that way with NVC via email, much faster and more efficient.

Fingers crossed you get your case number soon!

I agree. you can call the NVC everyday or you can send email, don't forget to put your reciept no. on the subject line, then what to put in a body msg: Petitioner's name and date of birth, Principal applicant's date of birth. Then, ask what is your case number, and invoice identification number. That's it. ;)

June 2011 - 130

June 2011 - NOA1

Dec 2011 - RFE

Jan 2012 - NOA2 (approved)

Feb 2012 - NVC case #

Mar 2012 - DS-3032

Mar 2012 - AOS paid

May 2012 - IV paid

May 2012 - DS-230

May 2012 - checklist

June 2012 - Case Complete

Daily phone call is the best option vs email at this phase. It takes almost 3 weeks ( per current trend)to assign the CASE nubmer after NVC gets your approved petition from USCIS...if you get quicker, just take it....thats EXTRA service from NVC...lol....

lol thank you everyone!...how do i know when did they get my case? i havent ask...should i?

When you call and say your USCIS receipt number they will tell you if it has been received or not. And if it has been received they will tell you if it has been put into the computer system or not.

Two operators in a row have informed me that NVC is "exceptionally overwhelmed" and "very backlogged" right now. It seems we just hit a bad time to need case numbers! The waiting sucks.

No case number yet - today is one month since NOA2.

Called twice today - both operators told me 30 business days for case number to be generated after receipt....this does not bode well at all.
