Hello VJ family. I am in need of some help. It has been a month since i filied my petition for my husand and i was curious about expiditing. I am trying to be patient and hold off on my two major surgeries. I am due in for a breast reduction and reconstructional jaw surgery. Now, i was trying to wait until my husband came to the US but i cant see myself waiting until Nov or Dec to get these done. The doctors are ready to proceed within the next 2 months. Im really going to need help because im going to have to take weeks off of work and my financial status is going to drop drastically. My job doesnt have sick days or vacation time. Im a sub-contractor so we get paid as we work. Please help your sister out. Thanks in advance! <3

Not to make light of your medical procedures, but they do not constitute grounds for expediting.

That would likely work against you. No guarantee that he could find employment that would support the two of you. So then your affidavit of support is undermined.

You can get a joint sponsor, but that may not be enough to convince an interviewing officer that he wouldn't become a public charge if you laid out the whole story.

thanks :) well answer me this if you may. When you ask for an expidite is it true they pull your app out of the order it was received? And if your not qualified they put your app in the back of the line so to speak?

Seriously I think they only will out your application if you are approved for the expedite. We sent in an expedite request, it was denied but our petition was never 'touched' (according to USCIS website, at least). I really think that if they deny the request, there is no point to pull out your file.

El destino me ha unido a vos.
