This is off topic, but I've been noticing a lot of people saying they've had issues with mail lately. I'm not sure the US postal service is what it used to be. I'm thinking of trying to get on my mailman's good side...maybe chocolate chip cookies?

Hi everyone,We received text and email notification for NOA1 / I-485 & I-765 on 6/5/12. How long does it take to receive the hard copies in the mail?

Mine took 7 days, I am in Texas.

I was just wondering a question and hope somebody can give me some advice.

My legal name is pretty hard to pronounce, so people called my English name which is "Linda" in the U.S.

After we got married, we got some cards from family members which are written as "To Daniel & Linda".

I was thinking do I bring those cards to the interview? or just don't bring at all to crate confusion since the names are different.

I have the same issue. In all my legal documents I go by Natalia, yet I prefer to be called Natasha, which are in fact one and the same name in Russia. I hope the officer won't get confused by having Natalia on file and hear my husband call me Natasha. Still a long way to go before the interview...

Hello guys! Just got back from 4-night stay including my biometrics appointment. The transfer notice was in the mail yesterday and on our way back home today I received text message on an update on our case. So my I-485 application is transferred in CSC... Good luck to all of us!

Today we got my wife's biometrics done!

For those who aren't up to date on our situation, last week we received a notice in the mail that my wife's biometrics appointment would be June 14 at 2:00 pm. Unfortunately, I had a business trip scheduled for next week, and I couldn't change it, so we decided to do an early walk-in.

On Tuesday, I went online to InfoPass and set an appointment for this morning at 11:00. We showed up this morning at about 10:45, and showed the guard our InfoPass appointment information that we printed out. He passed us through.

I explained our situation to the young lady at the main window, and she said 'No problem,' and told us to go through the door on the left, where we were greeted by another lady. We showed her our appointment notice, and she had us fill out a form. Once we were done, a gentleman took my wife back and fingerprinted and photographer her and we left; in and out in about 20 minutes.

The folks in the Charleston, SC office were very nice and professional. It was a good experience, and we're happy to be one step closer to having this all done!

5/9/2012: I-130, I-485, I-765 and I-131 package delivered to Chicago

5/16/2012: Check cashed ($1490)

5/21/2012: Received 4x I-797C receipt notices, dated May 14th, with priority/receipt date May 10th.

That's all I've had from USCIS - no biometrics appointment letter yet. Is this normal or should I call to follow up?

Update: Received biometrics appointment letter yesterday (dated June 1st). The appointment is at Oakland at the end of June. I think I will try an early walk-in.

I will try to do walk ins next week here at Kendall Miami office. My schedule is gonna be Thursday but not sure if my husband can get off from work early so we will try to go the days early than possible. Has anyone tried to do walk ins there?
