I hope someone could help me out with the Bonafide Evidence documents.

I was wondering if someone could provide me with (or point me towards) a template to use for the affidavits for wedding attendees. (We plan on having around 20 fill them out and of a wide variety; friends, family, as well as some of the government officials who attended the ceremony.)

I would greatly appreciate any assistance.

Thank you & many blessings!

Here you go (thanks to the terrible Rangers/senators game I am watching LOL)

I ____(name) have known ___(you) for x years. I witnessed the ceremony of X marry Y held at royal hall, tibucktoo on __date. The wedding was performed according to _(hindu/moslem/etc) rites. It lasted _hours and was attended by 20000 guests.

I certify that the above statement is true to the best of my knowledge and I am not making this statement under pressure or for any gain. The statement is given by my own free will.

I can be reached at xxx-xxxx-xxxx and my email is abcd@yahoo.cccc

end

Few points to remember

Make sure the statements are notarized-rather than iving 20 blanketed ones give 5 that are nciely done and cover everything-think quality over quantity-tell the officer that you can submit more statements if need be.

Make sure to include phone number and/or email of person giving statement. It makes each statement genuine, with weight an original in case they need to verify.

Make sure to include how long the person giving statement has known you and how is he/she related

try to get statements from both sides-groom and bride side.

If you have photos also note that in statement too and on the photo too show the person who gave the statement. Adding a picture to the words says a lot.

I agree...20 seems like overkill, especially because it's unlikely that all 20 of those people know you and your spouse well enough to know from personal experience that your relationship is genuine.

Yeah, it's a great feeling Ryan...and a great system they have in place. A shame it doesn't work for everyone. As far as the affidavits, just my 2 cents...I think it sounds & looks better if they are not all in the same format. We sent 2, and they were people that not only attended the wedding but have spent time with BOTH of us before & after the wedding as well.

We copied/pasted our photos into a Word doc (so we could have several on each individual page, and avoid adding too many pages to our package) with a caption saying who is in each photo and when/where it was taken.

I have a hard copy for all the pictures (postcard size) that I was going to send. Do I need to explain who is in every picture, and where it was taken? If yes, what would be the best way? Should I just staple each individual picture with a note that would provide this info or may be I can put a number on the back of each picture, and have a document give the details for each pic?

What would you guys suggest? Also, how many pictures would you suggest I should send, as I don't want to overload them with pics. I was thinking about sending around 5-7?

Thank you!!

I would just write who/when/where on the back of each photo. Cross-referencing them by number to a separate document is just asking for things to get misplaced. I think we sent about 8-10 covering two years and the wedding.

Quality is always better than quantity is my suggestion to you. For example, sending a ton of pictures from one event and 10 affidavits of being present at the marriage ceremony won't get you very far (anyone can get an affidavit really). Instead, if you just send a few affidavits from people that have personal knowledge of your relationship and how it came to be, coupled with a few photographs of both you and your wife together at different events, times, clothes etc... is a much much stronger proof.

I sent two affidavits, pictures of our wedding ceremony and time spent with my wife before and after the wedding in many different locations, chat logs, e-mails, receipts of gifts I sent my wife, records of phone calls between us for the past year, boarding pass stubs of all my trips to Pakistan to spend time with her, entry and exit stamps from my trips to Pakistan on my passport and the catering bill from our marriage function.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

The evidence provided should be in relation to the "fraud alert" sirens that you think are going to go off in the reviewing officers head. Offices in UK, Canada Australia etc are not going to question much cause the standard of living is pretty much the same. However people from India, Pakistan, SE Asia etc are going to face much more scrutiny especially since there is not much courtship and much "pre Marriage" proof that an applicant can submit. Visa and Immigration officers still cant wrap their head around a person meeting his/her spouse right before wedding but it still happens more than 60% of cases. The burden of proof is upon applicant.

Better to front load the application as much as you can without overdoing it rather than getting a RFE.

I agree completely, but of course I was responding directly to a post by Trojam227 who is also going through London.

I agree with you that quality is more important than quantity, but in my case, I met my wife in December and we got married in March. Again, we did a court marriage and not a typical hindu wedding. We will do a hindu wedding in December when everyone can attend. It was a typical arranged marriage, so I don't have a lot of history to show for. That's why I was hoping to submit all the evidence that I have as I don't want them to have any doubts about the legitimacy of our relationship due to the lack of history. We hardly talk over the phone, but I do have lots of chat history and skype video logs that I can provide along with bills of restaurants, boarding passes, some pictures, affidavits and joint bank account proof. I am hoping that should be more than enough evidence. I just don't want this process to take any longer just because I didn't provide any piece document up front.
