Cool..... a fellow pig-man. I got rather attatched to the beast as well, but it was sort of a love/hate relationship. The SOB loved to tear the heads off of cases.....grrrrr :bonk:

I now carry a set of curved-nose hemostats on my kit whenever I'm in the field. Good for removing ruptured cartridges and also, well, closing off blood vessels.

When I went through machine gunners course all the instructors had them clamped to their blouses. Way quicker and easier than using the ruptured case tool.

Unfortunately not, used to have a really decked garage one but divorce took care of that

Here is my garage, Ingrid and Lola, my German Ladies.

Divorce sucks. I'm hedging my bet by staying poor.

Those are some nice looking ladies!

At that time they determined that number 4 buckshot delivered more energy with sufficient penetration at "household ranges" I have kept my home defense shotgun so loaded ever since. No practical experience to report thus yet.

I've walked through an apartment that's been all shot up and even #8 buckshot is plenty in a small space. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't use anything bigger than #4 indoors because of the over penetration possible. When the barrel was right up on the wall it penetrated through both sides of the interior wall and stopped in a third about six feet away. When the barrel was appx. 10 feet from a wall it blew out the front of the interior wall but stopped in the back side. (Standard 1/2" drywall.)

I have a sh!tload of 00 buck but that's for zombies. I have no doubt it'd go through interior and probably even exterior walls. Too much for home defense. My home defense stuff is just plain old #7 1/2. I have some "exotic" stuff (dragon's breath, rubber bullets, door busters, etc.) but plain old bird shot is probably anyone needs for HD.

Yeah, I keep my 916 Eastfield stocked with sport loads. At 20-30 feet (typical in home engagement distances) they are effective enough. If I need more umph my 1911 (loaded with Glaser Safety Slugs) is always very close to my heart and my hand.

My 1911 is typically loaded with whatever I had left from the range.

The more and more I shoot the .45, the less and less I worry about "exotic" ammo. 230gr. ball has been kicking @$$ for 100 years. Should do fine by me as well.

Sweet!!!!!

I posted the link to the pics in the P&R section. I'm not smart enough to get pics to post here. (Or there, apparently.)

Charles!, you're the man!

I need a better pic. I'll get her back in the studio later this evening. Maybe even on the casting couch!

:ot: Slim, have you or anyone else heard from Gary? He has always been so regular here that his absence makes me wonder if we should be worried. Hope it has a simple and good explanation!

I have not heard from Gary. I wouldn't be too worried though. He's probably just skinny dipping with Alla.

So to get back on topic, I'm thinking about selling a couple of my pumps to get into a Saiga-12. Thoughts?

making a deposit at the local sperm bank for fund the firearm habit ....

If the local sperm bank paid.... I'd have a new career.

You know my vote!

I do. And it seems pretty consistent across the board. I've yet to meet the guy that said, "I just didn't like my Saiga."
