Scary enough that if I spotted someone coming at me with one in my scope from 300 yeards I could drop them in their tracks at that range. :P

If tomahawks were really as scary as they look we would have "White Man's Casinos"

A tomahawk definitely has a limited range. However, within that range.... I'd rather face someone armed with a pistol.

A good boomstick is never "worse" than a good tomahawk, but a good tomahawk is a wonderful tool to have.

As in a throwing Tomahawk?

Aren't they all throwing tomahawks once you throw them?

I bought the Cold Steel Peace Pipe hawk. I was leaning toward the Rifleman's hawk but the dude pointed out it was bigger and heavier and recommended I go with the slightly smaller, lighter, peace pipe. So far I'm happy.

I have a SOG Fusion hawk but it's sitting in two pieces since, apparently, it's NOT a throwing hawk! For everyday carry, that one would probably be pretty decent since it's super light and pretty tough. The more I get into them though, the more I'm liking the hardwood handle and simplicity of the classic styles. The SOG is cool, but it's arfcom cool, not "been used for 500 years" cool.

Sometimes people buy non functional versions. I had a look at the SOG just now, wow that looks uh "tactical". Mine are a lot more rustic. I bought two about 15 years ago, one with a tiny 2" blade and a second with a 7" (which apparently is against sporting regulations or something because it will stick at far more angles than my smaller one).

Tomahawk cruise missile. You can buy them surplus now that we pulled out of Iraq. Obama was trying to give them to Mexican Narco Terrorists but decided to sell them to pay down the deficit instead and ther Mexican Narco Terrorists had to be satisfied with a couple thousand Kalashnikovs. You need a background check. Hard to carry concealed but they are awesome for home defense.

Check state and local laws.

What is a "non functional tomahawk" ? Moving parts removed? Can you own them in UK?

Haha, well sometimes things can be made for display only. If the steel is very brittle it won't last very long when throwing. Swords are the same way, if you use a display sword as weapon the blade can break possibly causing injury. Display katana / wakizashi for instance often do not have full tangs (the part of the steel in the handle) and instead are just welded to the handle - that can snap too.

I can never resist low hanging fruit. :P

I have real guns but no fake tomahawks. Alla did buy a wierd kind of knife at a garage sale, like something from some Medieval video game or something. Why? I have not an effin' clue but I am sure it was a 90% off sale or something. She has it in her desk drawer.

I probably won't be doing competitions any time soon but I may need one when the zombies attack. A tomahawk is a fantastic weapon. I know you're a fan of the katana and that seems like a good one too. Perhaps someday I'll get into that sort of thing. As it stands I'll have to go with the rifle/bayonet followed by the tomahawk/knife.

As a Rifleman, I've been interested in having the accoutrements those before me have utilized. I recently purchased a non-functioning Tower Musket (Brown Bess - Long Land Version .75cal flintlock) for demonstration purposes at Appleseed events. I'll probably make it functional in the coming months (just need to drill the touch hole and affix the flint) but as it stands, the big ol' bayonet on the end is fully functional.

I like the idea of "standing on the green" with my musket when we make our stand against the tryrants. Of course I'll have my AR/AK strapped across my back but the tomahawk bridges that gap between the old and new school and funtions for it's intended purpose even to this day.

I'm completely with you, I do like them but they aren't as practical. If you're looking for BP supplies btw., definitely check out Track of the Wolf http://www.trackofthewolf.com/ I bought from them recently, they have a really broad range of ball and conicals. They were pretty much the only place that sold .380 which I needed.

Track of the Wolf is a wonderful site. I haven't pulled the trigger on BP yet, but when I do, that'll be my first stop.

Bought another P-14 this weekend. It's almost a basic 1911. It's going in my kit in case the zombies attack.

Is that the 14 shot .45 by Para-Ordnance? Not a bad thing I guess but I prefer a slimmer grip, I never went for the hi-capacity pistols. For zombies they are good I guess, for CC they stink. One the easiest to conceal guns I have is a Colt M1903 .32 auto. Very slim and trim. Only problem? It is a .32 acp. If I ever shoot anyone with it, and they find out about it, they will probably kick my @ss.

Grip is the "same" as the single stack. (Or so they say.)

I used to conceal a Para P-10 just fine. But, then again, when you're "husky" it doesn't really matter what you carry, does it? I'm probably going to get another one soon because the full size 1911 bumps on stuff when I sit down.
