Woken, abruptly, at 7 am this morning with a lady yelling and the sound of my little dog barking...

ran out to the street to find my front gate wide open and my long hair chihuahua "communicating" with her and her BIG dog.

Really thankful she was yelling, though it did not stop the chi,...I got her back in safely.

Thank you to the stranger and I am sorry for the encounter!!!!! :bonk:

This is a super old topic now.

We have had our dog "Cookie" for around 3 months.

She is short haired, cannot live outdoors permanently as we live in Minnesota and lives happily inside and doesn't leave any "gross hair". :blush:

Its all in your point of view. Some dogs do leave a ton of hair in the house, I prefer not to keep those breeds myself. Some people just don't like animals. I live in Minnesota also, and very few dogs can survive the winters outdoors here. Regular brushing of the dog can keep hair under control with the majority of breeds. I fostered a pair of Poms, I couldn't believe how much hair they were constantly throwing. Took 3 weeks of brushing to get their coats cleaned up so their wasn't too much hair everywhere. Still they needed daily brushing to keep them in shape. Beautiful dogs but very high maintenance.
