Mine are the same as well. My I-360 and I-765 both say "Initial Review", but the main I-485 just says "Acceptance".

Mine said the same... That is because first they need to approve I-130 before continue with 1-485 (they need the A# that you can get from i-130) The interview will come from the approve of your I-485 but before that you can have authorization to work (i-765) if you have an A#. However your EAD will expire the day of your interview...

This is my understanding of the process...

Day 00: 01/12/12 - Got Married

Day 00: 04/23/12 - Sent forms I-130, I-485 and I-765 to Chicago

Started: 04/24/12 - PK received by L. Martin @ 10:28am

Day 02: 04/26/12 - 3 Emails/text's received from USCIS @ 3:45pm

Day 03: 04/27/12 - Checks cashed in the afternoon...

Day 07: 05/01/12 - NOA 1 (I-130), 2 (I-485) and 3 (I-765) on the mail.

Day 10: 05/04/12 - Biometrics Notification in mail (appointment set for 05/17)

Day 10: 05/04/12 - Early Biometrics done (No problems at all).

Day 44: 06/05/12 - Notification of Interview received by text and email at 6:15am, for 07/11/2012.

Day 50: 06/11/12 - NOA in the mail for Interview in Houston, TX at 10:00am (day 80).

Day 65: 06/26/12 - Notification of EAD in production.

Day 68: 06/29/12 - Second notification of EAD in production.

Day 72: 07/03/12 - Third notification... USPS picked up mail from USCIS containing new card (EAD).

Day 74: 07/05/12 - EAD ON MY HANDS!!!

Day 80: 07/11/12 - Interview (10:00am), APPROVED on the spot! First notification (Card on production) @ 4:30pm.

Day 81: 07/12/12 - Notification email received, I-130 Approved and mailed notice that I am "registred as new permanent resident status".

Day 88: 07/19/12 - GREEN CARD ON MY HANDS!!!

No waiting any more!!!...

Question... I noticed several people say their BIOMETRICS are schedule for one specific day but then I read that they are going before the appoinment day. How is that possible? They give you that option? That speed up the process if you go before?

Thank you for your help...

This is my understanding of the process...

If you submit both of them , I130-I-485, both of them will be processed on the NBC. NBC will transfer both of them to the local office for the interviewing and the final decision. in the interview the officer will approve both of them. So the process will be concurrent. when you file the I-485, you are eligible to file I-765 which the work authorization section c-0-9, pending I-485.

the A# is your immigration ID with USCIS and they will assign you one when you file any immigration petition , so when you submit I130 they will assign you a unique ID which is the A#, and you will use this number in all your immigration journey with USCIS.

Thank you for your help...

yes, some offices don't mind to let you do the biometric since you have your appointment letter, but some offices are very strict regarding timing. so if you can check the offices that close to you and they are flexible about walk-in, I advice you to go and do it, it's not necessary to be the office which assigned on the appointment letter.

does it speed up the process ?

I am not sure, most people say no, However, the officer won't approve your case if the background check was not received by the FBI. Because as soon as you complete your biometric , it will be transmitted to the FBI for a security check. So, it's not gonna hurt if you did it early  I hope you find these information helpful :)

Welcome!!

I can't help ya with #1 but if you ask what you need to, I'm sure you will find an answer :)

2- What is wrong with the photocopies? You are ok. Did you send your hubby's proof of citizenship like a passport? that will suffice. Are you the USC or is he?

3-Not sure about this, but I just waited for my appointment. they set them two weeks out, and you can certainly attempt a walk in...however there is no hard proof that it speeds up things.

:) Good Luck and Welcome again!
