Transfer to new office

Hi, VJ'ers. We have been having a couple of issues after our successful K1 process. I was wondering if some of you more seasoned VJ'ers can help us out! About a month ago we received an RFE regarding a couple of tax forms. The evidence was submitted and we received notification that it had been received and was under review. Then today we got a message that started with the following :

"On March 20, 2012, we transferred this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS to another office for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action."

We are trying to figure out what this means. Our case never moved from the National Benefits Center so we are hoping this just means that it moved to one of the other service center and nothing more. Anyone can help shed light on this? We would be much, much obliged. Thanks in advance.

It was probably was at the NBC and now it moved to the California Service Center. It's nothing to worry about - it means you probably won't have an interview.

Not to get our hopes up, but we did received approval of AP and EAD today, so maybe it was CSC after all?

You most likely did have your I-485 sent to CSC, but being approved for the EAD/AP is not part of that. Those are not transferred and are processed at the NBC.

By the way, you are adjusting status from a K-1, so not sure why this post is in this forum.

Thanks for the clarification. We are learning one thing at a time! I did make a mistake when posting the thread and I don't know how to move it!

You cannot move it yourself. I just normally see a mod jump on posts quickly that are put in the wrong place, so I found it odd that no one moved yours yet.

You have to report a post for a mod to know that it needs to be moved.

Indeed. Was surprised to see it had not happened yet. I usually see them moved quickly. It is done now though

I pushed the report button and asked the mods to move it. They are very fast once they know to act
