I did the new update last night and now I have to pay for screensharing. This was how we did most of the forms and I have helped out my sister with her computer woes and such.

If you use SKYPE and use this function, don't update it yet.

Good luck, everyone.

Sigh why am I not surprised that Skype is pulling these kinds of shenanigans again? That's a good heads up though for people that heavily rely on it (I have vonage phone service with a local Argentine phone number so my wife and I had no problems staying in contact while we waited out the K-1 but most people aren't able to do that unfortunately). I guess more people will shift to things like Google Voice or WhatsApp.

Skype is still free. That is not the problem. But when I tried to screenshare with him this morning (something we have become experts in since beginning this lovely K-1 adventure), it asked for $$. I elected to update late last night.

Another thing that I don't care for is the small viewing window. I liked to have both the little one for him and the full screen because of the resolution. Of course, I like him life-sized, but often, the signal between the distance leaves a bit to be desired and I can see more clearly with the small pop-up window. That now is not available.

I haven't seen any pro yet to this version and I don't seem to have the option to regress back to what I had a day ago.
