Received US VISA 2 days ago =) Now, my fiance and I are wondering what ticket to purchase ... LOL. Should we just get the one-way or the round-trip? If round-trip, how many months, lets say flight is March, what month should the return ticket be? Need advice. Thanks for your time =) God bless!!!

It depends on which is cheaper. There are lots of variables. Websites such as http://www.cheapoair.com/ you can check fares by inputing one way or round trip. You will be surprised that sometimes the round trip ticket can be cheaper than the one way. So your best bet is to find the date your fiancee plan to arrive then check out the one way and the round trip fares and pick the cheapest one. I hope this helps.

Actually, I am thinking of the same thing. Not because I doubt my love and relationship with my fiancee. It is the least thing I could ever imagine. Since my interview is up this Feb, I am thinking I might get return tickets as they are cheaper, should we (me and my fiancee) go back and visit folks in the P. I. One way is like 800 dollars and when two-way it's round 1.200, 1,300 USD. So, which way to go?

round trip is cheaper. We bought one way ticket going to US for the first time. I just bought a round trip ticket going back to the Philippines on 3rd week of Feb up to 2nd week of July. That's less than 5 months.

Hmm...oh, what i mean is if you will end up not using the US - to Phil flight then its a waste of money...K1's can't go back home unless they get their AP or green card and we don't know for sure when will someone gets the approval for that...so, if you pay 800 for a one way and 1400 for a round trip..then end up not using the whole trip..you will end up paying 600 and not using..not sure if its ok to book a ticket with no expiration in it .. I thought of that from before but just gave up on searching for answers as excitement to be with my fiance is more important than anything else :D - Good luck and best wishes!!!

Gothcha :) purchasing one-way i ticket to my love love today :) thanks!!!

Totally on the same boat!!!

Anyway, we have decided to just purchase the one-way ticket since its correct that we do not know how long AOS will take. We'll

Just purchase another round trip for our Christmas vacay here in Manila. Checked the fairs and two-way costs around $1500-$1700 economy and one-way is from $980-$1200 :)

Id say, one-way is the best route :) we got some pretty good advice here :)

Thanks VJ members!!! Huge help!!! Appreciated big time :) Wooot wooot!

you should go for return ticket with one year time and option to have flexible date of return. That will save lots of money.

Keep in mind that you will not be using the return flight. You are just playing the game the airlines use in order to get as cheap of a ticket as possible. Should you opt for a RT, just remember to cancel the return leg before its scheduled departure otherwise there is a slight chance it will bite you should the airline sell the seat and not change the name. USCIS has accussed others of leaving the country and the burden of proof is always on you to prove USCIS wrong. There were a couple of threads on VJ about this issue.

Good luck,

Dave

Air Berlin is 1/2 the price for a one-way sop we used that out of the UK. You really learn airlines and flight options at this time!
