One-way ticket or round-trip ticket?

Received US VISA 2 days ago =) Now, my fiance and I are wondering what ticket to purchase ... LOL. Should we just get the one-way or the round-trip? If round-trip, how many months, lets say flight is March, what month should the return ticket be? Need advice. Thanks for your time =) God bless!!!

Hahaha. Actually, it's more expensive to purchase a one-way ticket. LOL! We actually have plans of coming back here for Christmas Vacation. We seriously don't have an idea what to get for real. Thanks for the quick response =) God bless!

You've gone this far. Unless you are uncertain, I'd go for one-way. I certainly don't see myself going all the way through with "serious" concerns. I'm doing this because I couldn't imagine myself spending the rest of my life without my fiance. It's not exactly "burning the ships" but I'd go into it 100% and don't look back!

You only need to purchase a one-way but sometimes special return fares are cheaper than the one-way price. Just a matter of checking what the best deal is on your travel date.

Personally, I am going to just buy a oneway for my finace when he comes. The main reason is because I don't know how long it will take for the AOS to be completed. We also want to go back and visit as soon as possible, but not knowing what that date will be and if the airline schedules that far in advance has made me settle on the oneway.

Hmm...oh, what i mean is if you will end up not using the US - to Phil flight then its a waste of money...K1's can't go back home unless they get their AP or green card and we don't know for sure when will someone gets the approval for that...so, if you pay 800 for a one way and 1400 for a round trip..then end up not using the whole trip..you will end up paying 600 and not using..not sure if its ok to book a ticket with no expiration in it .. I thought of that from before but just gave up on searching for answers as excitement to be with my fiance is more important than anything else - Good luck and best wishes!!!

Its all about the Benjamins, whichever is cheaper, I have found rount trip far cheaper then one way at times.

Whatever is cheaper is what I would do. I purchased a RT for the fiancee and had the return date within 90 days after her arrival just in case we did not get married. After marriage I made certain that I canceled the return leg as there have been stories of USCIS claiming that the return ticket was used by the former fiance(e) and then they had to prove that the fiance(e) did not actually leave the country.

For us a one-way is anywhere from $1000 to $7000 more expensive than a RT ticket. I used the $1000 I "saved" to pay for the AOS fee.

I been checking the prices and making comparison on one-way or round trip, on my choice of Airline the one way is definitely cheaper. So if you find a round trip that's cheaper I don't see why not.

Maybe one reason the round trip is cheaper is there may be multiple layovers, while the one way is direct or single layover.
