I'm filing I-485, I-130 and I-765. Can I pay all fees with my personal check? Also, should I use separate checks for each application or should I just make everything into one check? Thanks.

Personal check (with good funds) is acceptable.... I will defer the latter question to others as i have never done a multiple fee'd filing....

YMMV

Yes pay with a personal check.... that way you will know when it has been cashed and will be able to get the reciept number from the checks to track your application on line..

Send separate checks for each application... that way if there is a problem with one application they will not have to send back the whole lot...

Good Luck with your journey...

Kezzie

Yes you can! We used seperate checks; however, I've seen other people say they used one. I would side with Kezzie though on using seperate ones!

Oh, you can include the biometrics in with the AOS fee though, that doesn't really have to be seperate (we didn't do it seperate).

We did it with a single check and had no problem. Having said that, I think Kezzie's advice makes perfect sense. Had we read this prior to our filing I am sure we would have written separate checks.

I must admit that throughout our visajourney the fastest, most professional part has always been the taking of the money.

I think the " Chicago Lock Box " is an office where 600 people rip open packages to get the money and throw the rest of the package on the floor. Then once a week one 85 year old guy shovels the floor into the basement where they sit for 6 months or a year until the other 85 year old guy sends them on a donkey to the various local offices.

We had our application returned before cause the lawyer send one check for everything  .

Definitely use separate checks, but you can pay for I485+biometrics together (according to the instructions)and that's what we did successfully.
