Got a letter today

We had my husband's interview back in November and hadn't heard anything for a while, so at the beginning of this month we went for an info pass and they couldn't tell us anything. today we get a letter saying that they are questioning it and sent it on for further review. And they gave no indication of a timeline. I'm scared, really scared!

Yup they could do, and you have to be tough because next interview is gonna be cruel Stoke one.

Yes and visits are very common in Puerto Rico, New York and states where fraud is apparent. They ask ridiculous questions like: where are the kitchen utensils?, apparently to "check" if both of you know where everything's located.... which supposedly proves y'all live together. They check the house to find belongings from both.... it is invasive. I have a good friend that works in immigration doing house visits. If you want send me a private message and I'll ask him for help on how to prepare yourself for a house visit.

Actually, in NY, home visits have been declared illegal. That is why they started the "Stokes Unit." Other states do home visits, yes.

Yes, they've been declared illegal, but that hasn't stopped any officer from paying a visit. That's how they caught that lady in the Bronx with "4 husbands."

That said, I'm surprised they are legal in any state. They are so invasive and prove very little, if anything at all.

No, they just knock your door in the morning so you don't have time to prepare. It is rare though.

It's probably more likely you'll get a second interview where you will be separated ("Stokes") than a home visit, but that is a possibility as well.

I don't care if they do a home visit, or even a stokes. But the biggest problem is my husband is having medical issues and he don't work and i have no insurance and he wants to go back home to go to the doctor. We were advised for him not to leave the country even wih his advanced parole cause they may no let him back in

until the AOS is settled, i would not leave the US unless you are not attached to knowing if the LPR will be able to come back.

if the AOS is denied, the LPR will be out of status and will have to acquire a new visa to re-enter the US.

having said that, if you feel like life abroad has more to offer, i would not worry. make his health the priority.

I agree that I wouldn't leave in the meantime - if you get another interview and he's unable to return for it, your case would be denied and he wouldn't be able to return, period. It may not be a good idea anyway - I see he is adjusting from a tourist visa. Did he overstay?

Obviously they have some concerns about the validity of the relationship and if I remember your history correctly you will have a hard time with the upcoming Stokes.
