Hello. We are getting ready to file K1 around the end of Feb. The problem is my job is being transferred from the US to Singapore around Jul or Aug. Will we be able to get the K1 before then and still have time to get married and file for AOS? Can she move to Singapore with the K1? Should we just get married in the Philippines and get her a visa from Singapore?

I will be in Singapore for 3-5 years so we could just get married in the Philippines and apply for a Singapore visa....then apply for K3.

It sounds like the K1 is theasiest way but I am concerned that my relocation date may even be moved up to jun. What would happen if we are in the middle of the K1 process and I move to Singapore?

How can you get your application expedited? I am a Department of Defense employee but not military. I am civilian DoD.

Does anyone have any advice or opinions?

If she isn't planning on living in the US for a period of years while you are in Singapore there is no point in filing for a K-1 or a CR-1 visa at this point. She would have to maintain residency in the US to keep her green card. Best to get married wherever it is easiest, move to Singapore, then file for the CR-1 about 8 months prior to returning to the US.

If we apply for the K1 can we just cancel it if my relocation is moved up?

Does anyone know the requirements for entry to singapore? Would being married in the Philippines allow us to apply for visa there as my wife?

You can withdraw the petition in this circumstance.

Would being married in the Philippines allow us to apply for visa there as my wife?

You file a petition, your wife applies for a visa. If you and your wife are living together in Singapore when the time comes for her to interview for a US spousal visa, she would be able to interview in Singapore.

Also, if you are living together in Singapore, then I agree with the below timeframe as to when you would file the I-130 petition. If you are married for 2 or more years when the time comes for you to return to the US, your wife would be applying for an IR-1 visa.

then file for the CR-1 about 8 months prior to returning to the US.

Singapore is a lot less strict than the USA in terms of visa.

Shouldnt be an issue for your future wife to get a visa in Singapore
