now you wait. you file from overseas, a local address on petitioner, in Japan? if so, expect up to 30 days turn around on the i-130 approval.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Remind me - you and your wife live together in Japan - you were thinking to have IV interview in US Embassy in Japan, yes?

If that's the case - then is new adjudication category for USCIS - 'filed from overseas' which sorta replaces the DCF category, and

as to 'what's next' - well - sometime within 30 days of the NOA-1 date -

yer I-130 will be approved, sent over to NVC.

There's a rash of stuff to do at NVC - please study http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/EZGuideSpouse

and pay particular attention with getting yer wife's civil documents and police clearance certificates.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
