Hi all:

I am from Philippines, and I married a US citizen, I am now waiting for my green card interview. Is anyone here know the answer to my question of how I can bring my only sister that has working in Lebanon? Soon she'll be finish contract there and I would like to take her here in US instead in the Philippines. I don't know what visa capable to apply for her to get here, and am I allowed to apply that visa for my sister? Urgent answer please let me know what to do and how to start. Thank you in advance.

nope, you can't, only USC can apply for siblings. the wait for Philippine siblings of a USC is over 20 years. they are currently working with petitions sent in 1988.

she can try to find an employer on her own to sponsor her, depending on the type of job she does.

There have been many posts about this same issue lately. From my understanding you (LPR)can-not apply; only A USC CAN and it would take 10 20 years <> for your sister to get a visa.

Correction.

incorrect, only US citizens can apply for siblings. residents can only apply for spouses and unmarried children.

US Citizens, can apply for all those above, plus parents, siblings or married children.

Oh thank you so much for the responds! I really appreciate it, it clear to me now, though it's a bad news for me, at least I know what to do now,

Thank you so much! :(

Even a tourist visa only is not allowed for her??

She can try to get a tourist visa to visit, absolutely. The issue is only that from the Phillippines, a tourist visa is very difficult to obtain. But if she can afford the cost to try and has strong evidence of ties to her country (or wherever she is living now), then no harm in attempting it.

Thank you for that information, but I still have another question. If she can find an employer in US and still in Lebanon, are they will allow her to get her straight to US?? even without turning back to Philippines??

The US doesn't care if she goes home to the Philippines or not. Before you even need to worry about this, you need to determine if your sister even qualify for a work visa.

What kind of work does your sister do? Does she have a college degree?

Oh yes, just for visiting here.. We will be so glad even for a month or weeks. Just want to know all about it, because her employer preparing to start to send her back home, but we and my husband wants her to be here even just for a while. I don't have any idea of what is the good and legal visa for her since she is a Philippine passport holder.
