Hey VJ!

I have a quick question and I would really appreciate anyone's input. I filed my AOS application on September 29th 2011 and my case was transferred to the CSC on October 26th 2011. The current processing times for CSC is 4 months, does the 4 months begin from when you filed the application or when it was transferred?

Thank you everyone!

My wife's I-485 and EAD timelines are within a few days of yours.

Last week we called USCIS twice and spoke to two USCIS tier 1 reps.

The first rep said the 4 months clock started with the receipt date on the her first NOA which is October 3rd.

The second rep said the 4 months clock started on her transfer-to-CSC receipt date of October 21st.

So my wife's I-485 is within 4 months in both cases. They said to call back after February 3rd and February 21st respectively. I'm tempted to call on February 6th (a Monday) and ask for a service request if we don't hear anything by then :)

Thank you Harpa Timsah!

Bobby A - This is really great info, thank you :) My NOA date is October 5th - so if I haven't heard anything by February 6th like you, I will almost definitely be putting in a service request. I called USCIS the other week and they said my case looks good and there are no RFE's. Please keep me updated with your wife's case - hopefully we will both get an approval very soon! :)

Hi there Sean!

Yep our cases were transferred and received on the same dates. I really have no clue as to why our cases are taking longer, especially when so many people who were transferred in early November are getting approved! I'm definitely going to be putting in a service request at the NOA deadline. The wait is started to get to me too :(

Oh that sucks Lori! Why they took so long to transfer your case is anyone's guess. If we're working on the premise that the 4 month clock starts when you file/or your NOA date, then you will be able to put in a service request on February the 6th as your NOA date is the same as mine. Although your case wasn't transferred until December your actual NOA date is almost 4 months old.

We think it took so long to transfer because we didn't get a biometrics appointment for over 2 months. Apparently Minnesota is notoriously slow in setting those up. We called and were told to wait, wait, wait. No walk-ins were allowed for us.

I have to look at it this way. We spent so long apart waiting for his K-1 to come through. At least now I can be with Colin every single day. Sure, he's bored and would like to work. Money is getting a little tight too. But I get to come home every single day to his hugs. I'd work 100 hours a week, 7 days a week, 365 days a year if I had to just to be able to hug him every night.

This is where I am too.

It took us over 45 days for a Biometrics letter, but thank God, they let us walk-in. I don't know what to do now-- I don't know when or if our case has been transferred yet, or how long before EAD, AP, or GC... or even the interviews. We'd love to have two incomes, but I am so grateful and thankful to have my husband here with me, it makes it all worthwhile.
