My husband was told today at his interview that the petition was being sent back to NVC. Has this happened to anyone else. What can I do? I am devastated.

Thanks.

Sorry to hear that, it's not uncommon. To help, we need more info, such as how the interview went, what is written on the piece of paper he was given, how many times you visited, any red flags etc.

At 6:30 this morning he called and said the interview went very well. He said they took all his paperwork and let him tell all about my family and he had over 100 more photos to show them and e-mails. He had gone and got new police records and marriage docs and birth certificate just in case anything was lost. He had everything. He said the officer was very nice and asked him to come back 1 and 1/2 hours later. Then he called me and said they said they were sending his papers back to NVC and he would have to come back for another interview. They is all he told me.

I just spoke to him again. They gave him a Red Paper. It says: Return to NVC for interview.

What the world?

Please give me anything you can to help. We are devastated. When you say it is not uncommon, does this mean there is still hope or no hope? Please help.

That is odd... usually they send it back with a recomendation for revocation, OR there is a second interview (often with the petitioner present), but not both.

How did we meet?

When did we meet?

How did he ask me to marry him?

They did not ask for any more papers except for the medical exam papers. He will be home in an hour and I can find out more. I am so devastated.

Thank you for caring.

He sent me a copy of a Red Paper with the wrong Visa written on it said K1 instead of CR1. He kept asking my husband over and over how he asked me to marry him. The red notice says Return to NVC for review. My husband asked them why but they would not tell him.

When they return a petition back to NVC it is for Review and possible revocation. You have to prove your marriage all over again. There should be a reason on the letter they gave your husband stating the reason they are returning your petition.

If the interview went well, and it seems you had plenty of evidence to support a bona-fide marriage.

My congressmans office was a great help with our case. But it seems some congressman help more then others. You can call dos, and ask them the status of the case.

Again the letter should say why he was denied.

If they do return your petition it can take up to 2 months or longer before you recieve anything from them.

1st it goes to NVC for a short time then it will head back to NCIS CSC where it was approved.

You will have a chance to rebut the consulates findings.
