Last day of entry on IR1 Visa

Hello,

My IR1 (immigrant) visa says "Expires on 14 Jan 2012".

Is it possible to enter the US on this date: 14 Jan, 2012?

If possible, would there be any additional questions from an immigrant officer in relation to entry on this date?

I guess as long as you get into the uS by Midnight of that day you are ok ( my opinion) but what would make you want to do that? what if there is flight cancellation on the planned day of departure or other unforseen circumstance?

Yes. I would try to fly a couple of days prior, just in case you miss your flight or there are weather delays etc.

You shouldn't get any questions.

Yes you'll able to enter on the last day of the visa but to be safe you should make arrangements to travel a couple days before just like the previous posters said.

My interpretation is that you must enter PRIOR to the expiration date. On the expiration date, your visa is already expired. Don't take a chance on whether the CBP agent is going to interpret it differently. It is not a "valid through" date. It is an expiration date.
