Hi guys,

just wondering if anyone could possibly shed a little light on a matter for me.

My fiancee is American, and has come to stay with me for a few month in the UK, whilst we have processed the K1 Visa for me to move to the US. (helps with the lengthy process)

When she landed today she was given grief @ customs and then after a long interrogation she was finally let through but with a warning on her passport.

She hasn't been the UK since last year, and 2 times previously before that, 4 times overall in the space of 4 years.

Does anyone know what this warning stamp may be? will it affect our k1 visa process? and will it affect her flying back to the UK in the future?

Thanks and Happy Holidays

Chris

a usc's entry into a different country has no bearing on anything related to an alien coming to the us

YMMV

It won;t affect your K1 process, as mentioned above. It may affect her future entry to the UK, depending on what it says in her passport/' how long she is staying/ when she wants to enter next.

One time they wrote a number in my passport on the stamp (the stamp looked different than the ones I normally got). This was right after I filed for K1 and told the guy that so I wonder if it has something to do with them just noting that she doesn't plan to stay. Anyways, the next time I visited the person went to check it out on the computer and then came back a minute or two later and let me through. I've been back probably 20 times since that and nobody has looked at it again.

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

You said she was given grief, what did they say?

Won't affect the K1. Might affect future travel but I would assume they thought she was trying to immigrate. They don't know you're moving to the US unless you tell them so that's probably what she was telling them in interrogation "He's coming to my country and I'm helping him pack!!". Once you have a GC that makes that much less likely.

Random note - do you have a co-sponsor lined up for the I-134? if she has the ability to take months off work she's probably not earning enough to sponsor herself.

While our K1 was in process I flew to the UK to see Karen several times. I told them at UK passport control that I was visiting my girlfriend. The next time I said we are moving to America and I am visiting with paperwork needed to be done and I have an engagement ring. The third time I visited in 2011 I was grilled with many more questions, they basically wanted to know if I planned to work in the UK or get any money at all from any source. They also asked to see my ticket home. Basically they did not want to see that I was moving there little by little.

She may have not answered a question to the agent's satisfaction, or she may have fot the profile of the day (watch out for people with green sweaters, etc.) Best to check what the stamp says!
