Hi guys! I'm set to leave this Saturday (dec 24) for the us and my POE is LAX. I've read that it is one of the worst airports and that consul and or officers there are rude. I'm beginning to be get scared and worried! Can anyone share with me their experiences or knowledge? Plus do you think traveling on Christmas eve will be crazy hectic? Thank you in advance!

My POE was LAX but so far it was a great POE experience I ever had with the Immigration officers there...worst nightmare I ever had tho with some of the people working at LAX itself.

I've been through LAX twice, once on the ESTA visa waiver and once with my K-1. There is usually a bit of a wait to get through customs (they're a really busy airport) but apart from that i've never had any problems, all of the staff that i've ever dealt with have been really friendly and easy to deal with.

Finally time for AOS.......

12/07/11 Sent AOS package

12/09/11 AOS package delivered

12/14/11 Received NOA for I-485 and I-765 (we're not applying for AP)

12/22/11 Received letter for Biometrics

01/04/12 Biometrics in Phoenix

01/31/12 Received email update from USCIS saying that we've been scheduled for an interview

02/03/12 Got an email saying card production had been ordered for my EAD...now just to wait for the card...

02/09/12 Received email saying EAD card has been sent

02/13/12 Received EAD card :D :D :D :D

03/06/12 Interview in Phoenix :).....Approved :D

03/14/12 Received Green card in mail.....

....no more USCIS until December 2013

Ditto. LAX on VWP and K1 and absolutely no issues. Quite nice and simple. It was waiting for my bags, then waiting in the customs and then finding my way to get back through security that was painful. I had a 2 1/2 hour layover and it was still close to missing my flight (maybe 1/2 hour till plane left) so that's my main advice, if you have a connecting flight give yourself at least a 3 hour layover.

LAX if fine....i entered US thru LAX on K1 visa there were no problem at all.The immigration officer will just ask you some simple questions and look for your brown envelope and biometrics and thats it. I just stocked at LAX when i get my baggaged but all things went fine and good.

Very wise advice. On my Uncle's advice, both times i went through LAX i made sure i had min 3 hour lay over so i could make my connecting flight in time.
