hi guys.. im a newbie here..i'm having some worries about our i-130. my husband is a us citizen and working at the us military.. he submitted i-130 last august 17 and recieved NO1 mid October.. but unexpectedly he'll be deployed this Coming February 2012 so he called the USCIS to expedite our papers few days ago.. he submitted his deployment orders to them and they said that we will just have to wait not more than 30 days for the approval of our papers..my questions is what if it got approved, and my husband will leave at the date where i got my visa granted, do i still have the choice to stay here and will just wait until he finish his deployment? because it will take 6 months. i do have relative in the us but as a First timer in the US without him would be difficult for me to adjust.. i just wanted to know that if even my husband expedite my papers and granted right away, will they allow me to stay here for another couple of months?i mean will i still use the 6months validity of the visa?because it was expedite so i believe that i need to travel ASAP to the states.. but ill be living there alone waiting for my husband for 6months?

i really need your help.. thanks you so much.. i just wanna clear my minds.. and i think il just stay here while waiting for him that be there at the states alone without him knowing im just a Newbie there also hihihi

Thanks you so much! im looking forward to your help guys! GODBLESS US ALL ;)

***** Moving from DCF to CR-1 forum as OP does not seem to have filed DCF. OP- your profile says approved Adjustment of Status, are you using someone elses account? *****

The 6 months is still the usual validity- you are expediting your visa processing/ getting an interview, that does not shorten the validity of the visa. There are cases where the visa is valid less time, but that is usually related to having done a medical a long time in advance of the interview or a long AP after the interview.

USCIS doesn't issue visas. Once USCIS approves the petition, it will be two or three more months until you have a visa interview. Once you have the visa, you have 6 months to use it. Even if the petition is approved in January, you won't have a visa before April, then you have until six months after that to enter the USA.

No matter how many times you ask, the correct answer will not change.

hi guys our I-130 was just Approved!so fast! yey thanks God! how long should i wait till the papers arrived here in the US EMBASSY? Thank you thank you.. im nervous >_<

Two more fees to pay and three more packages of paper(s) to send in after the case gets to NVC. SOMEBODY needs to study the CR1/IR1 Guide.

take a look at the guide section, study the nvc processing bits.

just because the petition is approved, well, sorry, yer only 1/5th of the way done.

there's more.

DO, ,please, study the guides section, from a PC running winders.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
