Lost wedding pictures:Oh no

My wedding pics were stolen. I am just getting ready to file the Application now this. Do I darn submit all my evidence and I have alot without pictures and hope for the best or try and hunt down this court photographer to see if we can get it off his camera drive. It was way back in May so I highly doubt he keeps them all.

You don't need to submit wedding or any other pictures with your initial application. All we submitted was my passport to show that I had travelled and seen him recently, marriage certificate, and the biographical data forms, we had no problems. Pictures aren't needed till the interview. It sucks that someone was heartless enough to steal wedding pictures but right now you don't need it, get the paperwork in and concentrate on tracking down the photographer.

Also a side question, were you ever asked to present phone records and/or texting?

If I were a wedding photographer, I'd certainly keep ALL photos I took in case reprints were ordered($$$$). I'd hunt him/her down if I were you since (I'd guess) you would want to have wedding photos for your own use.

Save all your letters, any emails, yahoo messenger records, and all phone records, he did not get asked for text messages. With the embassy and from our experience and the experiences of other family members there is no such things as too much evidence, its best to bring everything and be prepared than to be caught off guard and be asked for evidence you have but left at home.

Sorry abt the lost.was it misplaced/lost or stolen.its 2 diff things.am sure ur inlaws who were witnessess wld have copies on their camera.

Nevetheless,u still ve months to worry abt.Happy for u 2 begin ur Journey

To answer your question on txt and phone logs: You will definitely have to submit all communicaton at the interview.....Good luck to you on your journey

As a photographer I can say honestly that we don't keep all photos as it is too much. We keep them for a certain time limit and let our clients know this. But truthfully if a wedding photo is what you desire then get all gussied up grab some flowers and have some done. Explain at the interview that the originals had been stolen but wanted to have something in your album to represent the ceremony. Do you still have the clothes you wore for your wedding. Just remember to be truthful at your interview about the photos after the fact.

Well update is we are still trying to reach him we have his card. Just praying he kept on disc. Unfortunately we were given the physical copies no .jpg on email (dare) so that was all we got 21 pics. It was a courthouse wedding we could replicate. But good news is on our 1 year anniversary which will be May 3rd we will do the traditional and the formal now those pics will have back up for backup and I doubt they will care.

We did have a friend take some pics during the ceremony he was at a different vantage point than the official photographer but at least we have those.

@Terri- love the idea. And will do that also when I go back in May. And explain I will. Hope they appreciate the effort.

@Sly-The pics were in a backpack I had with my laptop and all the signed affidavits and other documents when I returned from Nigeria in September. It seems to have come up missing at the house I was having my things stored. I am sure one day it will pop up. Just is upsetting you know
