The prior poster may have been making assumptions about why VAWA cases are handled so carefully but he had a (non-idiotic) point, VAWA cases ARE reviewed very carefully and that takes time. Your time frame is normal.

OUR TIMELINE

I am the USC, husband is adjusting from B2.

ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS

08.06.2010 - Sent off I-485
08.25.2010 - NOA hard copies received (x4), case status available online: 765, 131, 130.
10.15.2010 - RFE received: need 2 additional photos for AP.
10.18.2010 - RFE response sent certified mail
10.21.2010 - Service request placed for biometrics
10.25.2010 - RFE received per USCIS
10.26.2010 - Text/email received - AP approved!
10.28.2010 - Biometrics appointment received, dated 10/22 - set for 11/19 @ 3:00 PM
11.01.2010 - Successful biometrics walk-in @ 9:45 AM; EAD card sent for production text/email @ 2:47 PM! I-485 case status now available online.
11.04.2010 - Text/Email (2nd) - EAD card sent for production
11.08.2010 - Text/Email (3rd) - EAD approved
11.10.2010 - EAD received
12.11.2010 - Interview letter received - 01.13.11
01.13.2011 - Interview - no decision on the spot
01.24.2011 - Approved! Card production ordered!

REMOVAL OF CONDITIONS

11.02.2012 - Mailed I-751 packet to VSC
11.08.2012 - Checks cashed
11.10.2012 - NOA1 received, dated 11.06.2012
11.17.2012 - Biometrics letter received for 12.05.2012
11.23.2012 - Successful early biometrics walk-in

05.03.2013 - Approved! Card production ordered!

the OP asked a very precise question and the answer is that..It does take a lot of time: Vawa cases go under extra scrutiny that adds up to the normal waiting timeline and the fact that many fraudsters take advantage of that is as clear as the sun.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

I applied end of April 2011 got prima facie september and still nothing. Now they are doing april-25-11. With them you never know!

02/12/2015 RFE I-131 asking if I was or I'm in removal proceedings

03/03/2015 Respond for I-131 RFE sent to VSC

04/02/2015 RFE for Bona Fide Marriage, proof of shared residents and request for more evidence regarding Abuse received

04/20/2015 I-765 and I-131 APPROVED.

06/25/2015 Respond to I-360 RFE sent to VSC

07/14/2015 I-360 application APPROVED!!!

ICE

04/29/2011 Went for appointment with ICE officer and got processed
06/01/2011 Turn my passport in and started to report to BI twice a month in BI office, ones a month via phone and once a month they come to my home
01/05/2012 Still don't have court date!
02/02/2012 Terminated removal proceedings.

Hey guys!! Hang in there... I waited almost a year, finally after 8 months I wrote than a letter inquiring about my case.... After 2 months I got my approval...

nov 04 Went to interview by myself, told officer will aplly for vawa

11/04 I485 touched (still on initial review)

11/21 officer called lawyer about the I485 (btw: really nice IO)

12/10 apply for VAWA, without background check

12/11 lawyer drop off a copy of I360 for the IO

12/15 Prima faice received

12/18 sent background check, also sent a letter to IO asking to expedite the I485 to vermont to be linked with I360

12/31 I360 touched

08/04 Apply for EAD renew

08/18 receive NOA

08/26 new card ordered

08/31 new card ordered (again??)

09/01 notice of approval of I765... (where is my VAWA approval??? God help me...)

09/03 EAD arrived in the mail!! ufa!

10/03 Sent letter to renew prima facie and inquire about vawa status.

10/05 I360 touched- changed to "Request for evidence review" (WTH????)

11/27 Recieved prima facie extension

11/30 VAWA APPROVED!!!! yupiiiiiiiiiiiiii12/04 I360 Touched

12/22 Interview noticed for 01/23/12

12/26 Interview canceled by USCIS

12/31 New interview notice for 01/30/12

01/31/12 Interview and new biometrics done!!!

hope12 ,you have to renew your prima facie,by writing to the immigration and attaching copy of your first prima facie,i just got my second prima facie,i applied for vawa in june 2011,my first prima facie expired dec 11 2011.and i dont receive any public benefit.i hope this helps

Hi i am new here. kindly help me with this VAWA thing. My question is when you file vawa petition through a lawyer, then they will send all the information to the lawyer or they will send it directly to the petitioner.

Hi.am new here too and have a question about vawa.l applied in oct 2011 and so far l got twi prima facies.l just got the third PF yet the second one does not expire till end of october.the third one is only good for 2 mnths since it will expire in jan 2013.any idea about this?

Hello guys,you wont believe wat i saw when i checked my status online.Request for Evidence after 15months(applied june 2011) :wacko:.I have already receieved 4 prima facie"s :wacko: .am like What is going on?more depression this period,i havent received the mail for RFE yet,still waiting.

PS:this RFE request happend after i wrote a letter to USCIS office 3weeks ago asking why my case is taking long.

This people are full of suprises i tell u. :angry: .

farhan123 yes they will send all they need to send to your lawyer,if you are paying to much to your lawyer,u can try catholic charities dey help VAWA victims for free.Best of luck we are on the same boat.
