This issue in Mindanao has been going on since I was a baby and maybe way even before your fiancee was born so it's expected that the folks in the area are already used to it and their local government and the national government is doing something about it. Where in Mindanao is she?

It was going on before 1898 when we took over the place and was going on in 1947 when we gave it back! The reason we had .45 caliber handguns in our military for so many years was because of drugged up Muslim tribesman in the PIs that could absorb large amounts of .38 caliber lead and still disembowel a Trooper with his machete. The .45 knocked the tar out of them.

I doubt they expedited K-1s then either

You're right. Islam is already in PI even before Magellans arrival in 1500. Mindanao refused to embraced Christianism and even the occupation of Japanesse and American. You see, Ferdinand Magellan, the famous Italian explorer that discovered that the world is round and introduced Christianism to this country was killed in the hands of a Muslim hero, Lapu-lapu.

Not that our Islam brothers are all terrorist but it's really a combination of religious, economic and territorial feud.

Hello, everyone. First, thank you all for the help that you provide on this site. I think it is quite helpful and it is very much appreciated.

My fiancée is in Mindanao in the Philippines, and there are both Muslim insurgents and Communist insurgents active there. In the past few weeks, there have been three bombings in her city, one fairly close to her own neighborhood.

Do you think this might influence USCIS to process our K-1 application more swiftly? If yes, what would be my next step(s)?

It has already been just over five months since USCIS received it (Texas Processing Center).

Thanks very much!

Kevin

You need to just call and report your request for the expedition over the phone. It doesn't affect your application, and you don't need to turn in any paperwork.

I submitted a request for expedition the other day for financial hardship and emergent situations for my fiance, but they denied it.

I have been to Southern Mindanao many many times. Even met Pacquiao once years ago when he was still starting out. There are always bombings going on down there. I would not worry about it and it is unlikely to be a cause to expedite. As bad as it sounds sometimes, it is still safer than Detroit on Halloween night, or just about any major city when their team wins an NBA championship.

Hi

Here at VJ´s there is a case, that was expedited the whole process because there was an explotion in his town. it was a CR1-IR1 case not a K-1 one. but in some circunstances you can ask for an expedite procedure without claiming asylum.

I am searching for that case, as soon as i find it i will post you.

read uscis webpage an search here at VJ´s page.

If your fiancee is dealing with a very dangerous situacion that is know for everybody it can help. but it has to be a very dangerous situation and your fiance must be affected directly. if it is not the case it can affect or delay your case.

Currently.... they have issued Ice the incorrect GC and we have tried 4 times to fix it. First time they had us send it to the incorrect address. Second time they said we used an expired form, which was the form they gave us. Third time was "oh sorry we lost the last page, can you send it again?." Fourth time is the gov is shut down. Will this ever be corrected in time for Ice to get the permanent GC? Stay tuned to find out. T_T

To be honest you should be getting a NOA2 any day now. By the time you could affect any kind of change you will be done anyway. You are almost there just buckle up and wait. Our NOA2 was Sept 23rd. and she is flying this weekend. Once you get that NOA2 you can have her here in about a month and a half or less if you are proactive.
