Hello guys, i need your advise. My fiance iS finally arriving here next week  can't wait to see him! thank you all for your help. I started checking all what we will need for the AOS. The Health insurance and all what we will need to put together as proof we that we are a genuine couple. My health insurance will cost me a lil over $500 monthly grrrr so expensive. i know he needs health insurance...Is this something that we really need to show as proof when apply for the AOS ?

I have a house mortage and a car lease, but i would have to refinance both in order to add him to these 2 things also :( I know these are the most important things to show as proof. Please advise!!! would we have a problem not giving this 3 as proofs ?

:help:

There is no need to add him to any of that. or get health insurance just to put him on it. Health insurance IS a good idea though.

Joint bank accounts, drivers licence showing same address, his name on car insurance, on other bills. I would NOT refinance the house just to put him on it. Nor the car lease. I WOULD add him to the driving insurance though if he plans on driving.

You don't need any of the things you listed. You DO NEED a certified marriage certificate!!

Adding them to the utility bills costs nothing. A Library card costs nothing. Adding them to the checking account costs nothing. Taking photos of yourselves at home and on vacation costs nothing. Adding them as beneficiary to your life insurance and as a beneficiary to your savings costs nothing. Obtaining a state ID or drivers license costs little. Lots of proofs out there.

Thank you so much for the quick reply. Can i add him to my insurance if though he don't have a driver license yet?

My insurance company MADE me add my husband to my car insurance, even though he has no license and can't even drive. It didn't raise my premium at all. He just needs to get a SSN asap. ;)

Well, I have residential lease, joint bank statements, car title, affidavit letter from my uncle, pictures (couple daily pictures, couple wedding pics...) I hope these are good enough. We will bring more like utilities bills, car insurance, more pictures... to the interview just in case. Hope this helps. Best of luck to you.
