All I can think is that your consulate/embassy is backed up. Look at those going through Ghana. They have to wait up to a year after CC to get their interview date assigned. And currently those going through Cairo are waiting 4-6 months to get their interview date. Some consulates/embassies just have a backlog and you have to wait longer than others.

All you can do is to continue calling every single day, and not listen to their script they give.

I wish you luck. Stay positive and imagine having an interview date, and before you know it, you will :)

Yes, we certainly know about waiting a year or more since we filed our petition in November 2010. Right now just trying to survive the stress and pain of all of this. Just wondered why they would not got ahead and schedule the next available interview date whether it was a month away or a year away to give someone who has waited over a year already some hope.

I just can not quit my job like I did at the end of last year to move to Turkey because then I will not be able to bring him here. I would never put the responsibility of support on a co-sponsor because I am not a young adult with young parents that would do that.

I was hoping that they give out interviews at each embassy as to who closes at NVC first unless epedited.

It's not a year from petitioning to interview in my last post. It's a year from finishing at NVC to interview date. So almost two years from beginning to end (for those in Ghana). Most countries though, by the end, it takes around a year from start to finish. Mine took nine months.

As far not scheduling, as far as I know, countries only send their schedule like two months at a time or so. They're not gonna know how much space they have for interviews like 6 months out. That's why everyone finds out their interview date within 2 months of getting it assigned.

And yes, generally, they schedule interviews in the order that the case closes at NVC. Of course, if someone cancels an interview, then the next person in queue might get that empty slot, seeming as if they skipped the earlier people.

Thanks Saylin, I knew what you meant about waiting a year after NVC closed for interview date. It doesn't look like Ankara Embassy is having people wait a year, thank God. Thanks for helping me understand why they do not schedule interviews out so far in advance and giving me the benefit of your experience on most getting scheduled according to who closes first a NVC for their embassy.

I will keep calling and you are right, we need to imagine we already have that date and it will be here soon. :star::star:

I don't know much about the Ankara embassy, so I'm not sure what the wait time is there, but it's obviously not the typical few weeks as it is with most countries.

But yes, definitely keep calling, and whatever happens, do NOT feel discouraged. My husband was everytime I told him no interview date was scheduled yet. But I remained positive and visualized calling and getting my interview date, and imaging each night going to the interview with my documents. Before I knew it, an interview date was scheduling for me! :D

I'd put your case number in the subject line for sure. In the body, include the following information of both the petitioner and beneficiary: full name, birth date, and email address. Then include the case number again.

thank you saylin
