Hi, I'm PLICndo for my adjustment of status and read the instructions VJ process, I found a part that says: BE SURE TO USE CODE © (9) FOR A 1-YEAR EAD CARD (when filing concurrently with I-485 )!!!...

Anyone have the courtesy to explain this? .. Which means, that is, that is ..

When you apply for your AOS, form I-485, you can also apply for you EAD, form I-765 (employment authorization). on the form, #16, you put © (9) as your response. Don't forget to apply for you Advanced Parole as well, form I-131, so you can travel. It's all included in the same price upon initial filing.

C-9 code is used in form I-765 line 16. (C-9) is only if you are adjusting your status based on marriage to a us citizen. This form (I-765) should be sent a long with all the other forms you need (I-485, medical exam form, affidavit of support)...

Not true, it's not only based on marriage, but also any petition elegible to adjust status in country.

I was petitioned by my mom under the 245i law, and I sent the AOS packet filing concurrently when my priority date became current.

There are still people adjusting under this law, whether older children over 21 of USC or siblings of a USC, especially from Mexico and Philippines, that have a very long waiting period.

there are also children of LPR or USC that come on a student visa or work visa, that if the priority date becomes current and they are legally in the country, they can adjust status in country.

all of the above file the i485 and i765 concurrently.
