I can get up to 60 days off from work but it would all be unpaid.

My fiancee is from a mountain area. She has no access to net on cell. Her English skill are basic at best. My problem is that she is not able to fly to Manila alone and has no one who can help her or go with her. So I am going to have to fly back to the Philippines to help her go to manila for the medical and the embassy interview.

Money is a little tight so I am trying to figure best way to deal with booking my round trip ticket there and booking her one way ticket back to the USA. Has anyone went to the Philippines, to bring their fiancee home after the interview? What airlines did you fly? Did you have any problems getting your return ticket changed? What were the fees in doing so? Any problems getting a seat next to your fiancee added? Are there any airlines that are better or worse in doing this?

Also about time frame.. I filed the I-129 in the middle of August. I am planning to go to the Philippines around Middle of January. With NOA date of Aug 26. What is your best guess of NOA 2 and when I can book Medical Exam and Interview for her? What would be the best idea for dates to book my return ticket. My main concern is cost and lost time of work. I welcome any and all suggestions. Very stressed here, and like to have her here in the USA ASAP.

Thanks

Many people seem to be very opinionated on what a Filipina should or should not be able to do. I am not making any statements about Filipina’s. Only my fiancée, she herself seems to feel she is completely unable to do this on her own. She does not have any friends or family members that we both feel are capable of helping her. She does not live in a province like most. Where she lives is basically just area in woods in the mountains of Gumiras. Closes city is Iloilo. Her daily activity is just washing clothes cleaning getting water from a community well. They have no electricity no internet within almost 45min motorbike ride. She only has cell phone that she charges at neighbor’s house. Her parents have never been on a plane they do not know English. They have been very unsuccessful in trips and attempts to get her passport, and nbi clearance or cenomar. The only thing they have been able to obtain was NSO BC which she by mistake shipped to me when I asked for a copy for my records. At this point she has no ID, no official papers needed at all. They seem to get very confused when trying to get her passport and confusing the DFA people who seem to think she is trying to get papers to be overseas worker from the information I am getting. What I really need to find is someone with an education who has good ability to problem solve and who knows how to deal with the gov docs needed for this process.

I am glad to see you make this statement. This hasnt got anything to do the culture ect that has been discussed. This is about what you & she feel & know. As I suspected she comes from a place where she just didnt have reason to gain the experiances she would need to do this alone. What has to be done is difficult even for the more experianced people. The idea of telling her to simply grow up is an example of what she might run into along the way. She wouldnt know who to listen to. Being Fillipina she knows she is likely to be scammed by the culture we see right here. The twisted info & wild ideas that run rampant exist in Manila just as they do here. I cant imagine sending her alone into that enviroment thinking she can do all the things needed & get her own visa.

She needs you or what you describe as someone to help her. This will prove to be a very difficult thing for her to endure as she goes thru it. She needs a guide. If you cant go I hope you can find someone from the group that one member pointed out that can help.

I am glad you see this for what it really is & wish you & she the best as you go forward.

I wish I was still in the PI, I would love to help her. She can actually keep in touch with the filipinas (Vj members) who are waiting for their NOA2. Im sure there will be some who would not mind to help. :) You might have to do the search here and then have them talk on the phone maybe?
