I've been getting some texts from USCIS pertaining to the EAD with early December dates.

They would have been a lot more relevant before we got the GC. ;)

Hey all!

I have my interview next week and was just wondering if someone can give me some tips or a list of what to bring (as in, anything not mentioned on the letter?)

They have some vague things on the list such as 'everything establishing your eligibility' which I assume just means my K1 visa and NOA2 letter?

Thanks!

Hi all,

I have some great news...I have been APPROVED! It got approved just over 4 months from my NOA date without interview :)

The first email I received earlier this evening states:

"On February 7, 2012, we ordered production of your new card"

A couple of hours later I received this second email:

"On February 7, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status"

I am so excited and happy! Me and my hubby has pizza to celebrate :) I want to thank you all for your advice and support, and good luck to all those awaiting approval/interviews!

congrats for GC approval!

about my case, i called USCIS after receiving text messages about my EAD (which i already got) and asked them if that's supposedly for my AOS or just a complete mistake. the Tier 2 officer said ignore it and probably was an error. i asked about the wait time for the AOS and he told me i have a year? what the hell? then after that call in the afternoon i got another text for EAD.

I got another text from USCIS, this time pertaining to the January delivery of the GC.

Every time I see one of these texts I immediately imagine a "ooops we made a mistake, give the GC back" message.

Phew....no more texts hopefully! :bonk:

I WISH I was getting some texts - my case didn't get transferred until the end of December when my EAD got approved, which means I could be in for a long wait for the GC.

For those of you who have had interviews, how much proof of relationship is needed?

I have a copy of the lease to our apartment (where we share with other roommates too) but other than that, i have my own bank account, we've filed no taxes together yet, and I have my own temporary health insurance (he is still claimed by his parents). Apart from photos and passport stamps from visiting each other, do we really need more ''official'' docs?

Can you go down and open a joint account this week? that could help. :)

Congrats to everyone on their interview dates and approvals! It's great to hear some good news!

I've seen you, guys, talking about changing social security card, I applied yesterday with my EAD - they also told me that they needed to verify my status, which can take up to 4 weeks, but usually takes a week or two. I've had my SSN since 2008.

Hi ONA

I applied to change my social security card to my married name on Monday and they said the same thing to me. I was told a manual check was required and it could take up to 30 days, 45 days in some cases, but she said it's usually a lot faster then that. I've had my SSN since 2010.
