I didn't bother to ask, just did a walk in as it says. Got there early-second in line- handed the security my letter, filled out the paper and that's was it. Think they just want to be able to scan the bar codes on the letter, don't really matter if you're early.

Unfortunately, not all offices allow you to do a walk-in before the date of your appointment. Here in Chicago an early Biometrics is impossible. They wouldn’t let you go in before your date under any circumstance, even if the place is empty. I tried a walk-in last year for my ROC process and I was turned away. They are very strict. It's good to know that most of the offices allow it, though.

They will do it. Chicago, I mean.

I did walk-in for my I-485 as well as for I-751. Both times no problem whatsoever.

You may want to ask, not to demand. :) Just kidding :)

Well, I don’t know if Chicago have more than one ASC but the one that I went to they didn’t let us (to my minor daughter and I) have our Bio done about 7 days before our appointment date. As a matter of fact the officer at the desk specifically asked me why I was there if that was not the date of my appointment. He even called the supervisor in charge of that ASC and they told me that they not take people before the app. But that they can take people after their actual date in case they miss their original date. That was my experience and those their explanations. BTW I never asked anything to them. I just gave him our Bio letters and he immediately noticed that was not my schedule date. And the place was empty.
