What if NVC mails out something to the beneficiary and the mail potentially gets lost because of the poor mailing system in the beneficiary's country? Has this ever happened before? My husband is moving back to his home country soon (Pakistan) and that will be his new permanent address and with that his consular processing will most likely be done in that country. Does NVC send out mail through reliable sources such as DHL to countries like Pakistan where mail can get lost if sent via regular mail? I have no idea how he will be able to receive mail if he moves since its an absolute nightmare to get anything there.

Just asking out of curiosity. People who live in pakistan and are or have gone through consular processing please respond.

If you give the petitioner and beneficiary's email addresses to an operator once you have a case number, then NO mail will be sent out. All correspondence will be done by email thus no mail will get lost in foreign countries.

So after receiving a case number I can call NVC and give my husband's e-mail address for future correspondence?

thanks

Yes, once you have a case number, speak with an operator and give both your email addresses. Then all correspondence is sent by email.

Is there any way to give in my husband's (the beneficiary) email address now so that he will be contacted by NVC via email starting now instead of waiting till after the case number is given? I have been getting email from the USCIS already along with the mail, but not my husband.

pearls - you shouldn't wait on nvc to send anything out -

instead - study Ling Che's shortcut here on the wiki.

Most folk here at VJ want speed for NVC processing - Ling Che (if'n ya study it) gives you that speed.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Nope, the operators won't take his email until a case number has been assigned. Just keep calling NVC every day until you get the case number. Then tell the operator both of your email addresses.

I have to contact USCIS because I believe there is an error on my NOA2 in which my priority date has been misprinted as 2011 instead of how it was originally stated in my notice of action as 2010. I filed in August 2010 and my notice of action stated that my PD is August 2010. Now i'm hoping the 2011 was a typo and fearing that this will further delay things. Sigh.

Did anyone go through this?

What visa did you apply for?

And you're sure both dates are under 'priority date'? Cause I'm looking at my NOA2 layout, and the boxes are in different places.

F2A for spouse

Yes, I checked and both are under the priority date box. I got it checked out and its a mistake. Now i'm hoping it was just a typo and their system has the correct PD or else this will be another process to go through.

Ah. I was gonna say if it were for an IR-1/CR-1 visa, then priority dates don't matter. But they're a different story with all those F visas.

Anyways, hopefully they can fix their mistake, and quickly! Big difference between 2010 and 2011 for a PD. Good luck!

Thank you. Hopefully I don't have to go through another obstacle with this.
