7/15/11 Sent K1 Petition to Lockbox

8/10/11 STILL NO NOA1!

8/12/11 Called USCIS to get receipt number-NOA1 will be resent

8/16/11 Received NOA1 with date of 7/20/11

1/3/12 NOA2!!!

1/12/12 Got email notice we are through the NVC.

i dont know if this could get the BP or whatever you call them officer who admitted me into the country in trouble or not, but he wasnt very careful with my package ( more like allowed me to see everything ) and there are pretty much no secret stuff in there,its just everything you have admitted to USCIS and the consulate minus the pictures.

IF YOU HAVE TO HAVE YOUR PASSPORT AND 'SECRET DOCUMENT PACKAGE' DELIVERED BACK TO YOUR HOUSE, DON'T OPEN IN IN HASTE!

I WAS A SPLIT SECOND AWAY FROM RIPPING OPEN THE IMPORTANT DOCUMENT PACKAGE THINKING IT HAD MY PASSPORT INSIDE, IT WAS 06:30 AND I WAS VERY EXCITED.

NOW I HAVE A FLIGHT AND A PASSPORT AND AN INTACT SPECIAL SECRET PACKET AND IT ONLY TOOK 5 DAYS TO GET BACK FROM THE EMBASSY!

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU GOING THROUGH THE PROCESS AND ON TO THE NEXT STAGE I GO!!!!

Congrats...now have a safe trip to America!

I dunno what that is inside and what it says but I heard it will say "DO NOT OPEN". Only the authorized official is allowed to open it.

From what I have heard, it is basically most of the paperwork you have filled out. Not 100% sure, but I think they are just saving money by not sending back to the US themselves. You bring it, deliver it to DHS and they hand it over to USCIS. Like I said not 100% but it makes the most sense to me.

12-27-2010: I-129F arrived at USCIS sent packet on 12/23

12-29-2010: Notice date on NOA1

12-31-2010: Check cleared

01-02-2011: NOA1 received via SMS & E-Mail

01-06-2011: NOA1 hardcopy received via USPS[/color]

2-17-2011:Touched

04/12/2011:NOA2!!!!!

4-18-11: Received by NVC

4-20-11: Left NVC

4-24-11: Received by the consulate in Abu Dhabi

4-27-11:Received both packet 3 & 4 via e-mail from Abu Dhabi

7-25-11:Interview date-Administrative Processing

8-3-11:Administrative Processing ended - APPROVED!!!!!! :D

8-25-11:POE-SFO

9-10-11:Married!!!

9-26-11:Sent AOS Packet

10-6-11:Received NOA1s via text and E-mail

Our packet was for THREE people. They opened it at the border and it had all the paperwork we ever did in it. I guess they seal it so you do not make changes once it has the USG approval stamps all over it. We simply save them the postage. Hang on to it tightly, it is VERY important!

K-1 Journey

03-03-2011 - Mailed I-129F application.

03-06-2011 - Packet received in Texas.

03-23-2011 - NOA1 received in mail, dated 03-09-2011.

05-31-2011 - RFE requested. They want better passport pictures of me.

06-06-2011 - Additional passport pics sent.

06-08-2011 - Evidence received and acknowledged. Whew!

06-16-2011 - NOA2 received!

07-20-2011 - Packet 3 Received!

08-01-2011 - Packet 3 returned to Embassy.

08-22-2011 - Packet 4 Received!

09-19-2011 - Interview...APPROVED!

09-23-2011 - Visa in Hand

09-29-2011 - POE LAX

11-11-2011 - Wedding at 11:11pm GMT time.

12-02-2011 - Mailed in AOS/EAD/AP paperwork.

01-20-2012 - Notified of interview appointment for 2-21-2012.

01-31-2012 - EAD and AP approved.

02-08-2012 - EAD/AP card received.

02-21-2012 - AOS interview approved. EAD/AP card confiscated.

03-01-2012 - Green Card in hand!!!

No, he wouldn't get into any trouble. There are no "secret" documents inside the sealed envelope. You've seen almost all of those documents already. The reason for putting them in a sealed envelope is not because they don't want you to see what's inside. It's because they don't want you tampering with the documents before USCIS gets them.

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!
