Hi dear journalists, after preparing all my documents, photos, proofs and whatever document I thought we could need, we had our interview on September 7 / 2011. We arrived like half hour earlier and waited to be called probably for half hour in a different building. At 10:30 we entered the USCIS building and passed all the security scans and I was looking for a chair to sit and wait again, but the IO was standing right next to me and he surprised me when he told me my name is …. And I’ll be interviewing you today. He was “observing” us from the moment we entered the building. Then we went to his office and sat together and made the oath. He asked me for my passport, (I gave him both of them one with the B1/B2 expired visa and the other current passport), the I-94 (I had only a copy, but he said is OK we have enough evidence you were inspected when you arrived to USA) and any proof of your marriage, so I handed him copy of our DL showing the same address, health insurance, unemployment insurance, life insurance, bank accounts and car insurance. Don’t have bills in both names because my husband bought the house for us to live before we got married (thanks God! after 4 years of relationship). While he was checking the papers he asked only one question to us how you met and I answer and my husband continued with the answer (It seems he knew everything about us). And when I least expected he said OK congratulations your case have been approved and put the big red stamp on the file. All the rest of the documents (reference letters, university degrees, emails, phone records from 2007, etc) were still in my bag and also my cute photo album. And I asked the IO if he wanted to see my photos and he agreed and he had good time watching them, he took three photos of them. The IO during the entire interview was very professional and polite but at the same time gave us a confident environment.

And finally he said congratulations again and we left. Probably the interview was 10 to 15 minutes. I asked him if he’ll stamp my passport but he said that the GC are being issued fast (2 weeks) they are not stamping anymore the passports, but if I needed a proof before the GC arrives by mail I can make an appointment and get a temporary evidence of my status.

Our process lasted 2 months and 17 days from the day we sent the initial package.

My husband worries for everything and he is apprehensive because the news of immigration, so we made an appointment to talk with an IO for 28 of sept. to make sure that all my documentation is in order to travel to Bolivia and not have troubles coming back.

I want to thank to USA, now I can call my country for all the blessing received and the most important that is my husband. My loving, caring, supporting and beloved gentlemen. Thank you to everybody for your posts and this web site that really was my encyclopedia during this process, and to know that I am not alone in this journey.
