Hello all....longtime lurker....now I am an actually a registered user! It's been said, but this forum is a God-send! After reading, researching, checking and double-checking I think my fiance and I have our papers in order. But I will check ONCE again before actually sending.

Forgive me if this question has already been asked and answered, but I am wondering if there needs to be some sort of *story* in the letters of intent? I have a separate page detailing how we met as a supplement to the I-129F, but I just read in another thread about a person and their fiance(e) who had "beautiful" letters of intent. And could that make a difference in speeding the process? Or conversely, a reason for an RFE?

Just throwing this question out there to make sure all t's are crossed before sending! Thanks!!!

taurean,

The USCIS is not interested in literary work.

They simply want a factual statement from each of you, stating your intent to marry within 90 days of your Fiance's arrival, signed and dated.

That's it.

Mew: Thanks! That is actually the same one I used. So that takes care of that matter.

I have another question regarding the petitioner's passport. I have read that ALL pages should be submitted by photocopy. Does this mean all with stamps? Or all pages even if they are blank? Thanks again!

Personally, I would suggest all pages. Opinions vary, but I received an RFE for ALL pages.

It will cost you a few bucks more, but well worth avoiding the dreaded Request for Evidence (RFE).

Edit to add: Unless you have free access to an office copier, then it will cost you zip!!!

I gambled a little on this one, my passport was brand spanking new, and the only two countries I have visited were Canada and United Arab Emirates, so I copied the stamped pages and wrote on the bottom that all other pages were blank with date and signature added... Hope they can figure it out...

Good luck on your journey!

The sample letter has a quick note "or when submitting for interview" it asks for Embassy addy...If I use this form letter I suppose I cut this part out if I am just sending the first packet? or leave it there and place the emassy in the blank even tho no interview is scheduled yet?Is this form letter used also at a later date or or am I not reading/understanding something? Thanks

taurean,

The more a case officer has to read, the more time it will take them to process the case. And after reading, the more likely they are to say to themselves 'gee, I hadn't thought of that - I ought to find out more about it'.

If you're sending the letter to USCIS, address it to USCIS (first heading found on the letter).

The same example letter will be used to be sent to the beneficiary close to the interview - that's why the embassy thing is there.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

The only thing that the Statement of Intent MUST contain is your statement that you intend to marry within 90 days of your Fiance's arrival, signed and dated. Everything else is fluff, but ... my fiance and I used ours to make a statement to each other and they are nice enough to make you cry. She likes to read mine when she's bored or lonely. (L)

Saw my thread bumped up and read all of your responses. Thanks!

I do agree that less is more. Although we really don't know what the reviewer's are thinking, I agree that I would go digging if there was *too* much information to review.

Will be sending our package on Monday so think good thoughts....
