I'm a bit embarrassed by your behavior. Humility and compassion aren't your strong suit. I understand you're under a lot of stress but goodness man, keep it together and relax. It'll work out or it won't so try not to stress and make an donkey out of yourself. I wish you luck Darren, really I do but I don't think you'll get too much sympathy here acting like that. Best of luck with your interview and second half of medical.

Whew! I can't believe you wrote your tantrum to SLEC. You are marrying a Filipina and yet you have too many complains already about Philippine policies? As if you don't know? I thought you mentioned in your other thread that you know Phils and it's culture very well because "you're the man"? Duh!!! You sound a control freak guy who also seems to know EVERYTHING but not really. First of all, why are you the one holding the money? I thought you said you let her hold the coins and even the big big big bills? So, why handling the money outside SLEC? Look, how I wish you should have just used your skills/smartness at that time since you are "da man" and not be irritated. Your mouth and head is way too fast that you did not even think for a better solution but complain. Poor girlfriend, I can foresee. Next time, trust your girl to handle things and not you controlling everything. I see you're a planner but there are a lot of things that are out of our hands and only God knows what will happen tomorrow. Slow down because I am 1000% sure that your girlfriend is having a hard time catching up with you and all the things around you when you're together. I thought you're an ace in handling tough situations????

Perhaps the OP does not think she is old enough to be considered competent and able to handle the medical herself.

that's what I thought too. I wonder when you ever let your fiancee decide from start to finish. And venting out on the hospital because of that incident wouldn't change anything -- not their policies.

im nobody to give you advice, but did you consider not being in the spotlight right before the interview? it could cause you trouble. stay unnoticed until after she has the visa in hand, after that you can explode.

In other news, expect the cost for a medical in the Philippines to increase 10,000%. This will go to building a lavish waiting room for Americans.

ok, enough already. I trust her more then anyone here understands. MAHAL ko is my eyes. I depend on her as much as air, water, or food. Probably more then all of them combined. She has a very very very deep commitment from me. I trust her enough to close my eyes and just follow her by holding her hand ANYWHERE we go. If I wanat to go somewhere, I just let her know, then let her lead. Google maps, and yahoo maps, mapquest are tools I use and need a lot. They help me immensely. Sorry if I have offended people, but when you suffer from something no one sees, understands, or knows, how do you deal with it??? Even if you met me, you would not know of my eyesight problem for a while. I try to hide my issue because of dealing with my dad. My dad never knew how to relate to me and tried to raise me normally. (which meant I got more punishment as a kid because I always missed the "your in trouble" gazes.)

I think I need to open some "eyes" so to speak. I suffer from "optic atrophy". I left my glasses in the car back in the USA because I had a friend drive me to the airport. (OOOPS, plus a couple of pairs of my glasses are in the $1,000's of dollars, not something I want to take overseas to a foreign country). I choose to not drive in foreign countries if I can avoid it. My problem, my handicap, is one you CANNOT see. A person limping, a person with autism, MS, a broken arm, a broken leg, in a wheelchair can all be seen. But a person who is near-sighted. Who depends on his girl to help him see things. HOW can you explain that? With glasses I have great vision, wonderful vision. But without glasses, well, don't ask me the score at a basketball game. the worst part is, I am so functional, many times you cannot even tell until I read something how bad my eyesight is.

Maybe not explaining my issue here is a problem. But I get so tired over and over again explaining it. Yes, maybe I am on a tirade and upset over some things. Mahal ko is my eyes, she helps me through everything. Imagine having your eyes ripped out of your head. That is how it felt to me Monday morning. (mahal ko's parents do not understand my eyesight problem, so they wandered off to mingle with the locals.)

But I am just so very very tired of not being able to explain my issue. I couldn't see people until they were near me. Anytime I looked around just to get my bearings and where I was. see things. I started getting hounded. I have to "walk" the area to "know" the area. If I do not "go around the area", I am lost. I can now describe the front of St. Lukes, and some of the surrounding area very very very clearly. Because of my eyesight problem, I know "images" of areas very well.

I suffer from optic atrophy. It cannot be changed, fixed, operated on. I have had it all of my life since being a little kid. I have found ways to be functional even without wearing glasses.

Thanks for the comments. As far as I am concerned, I am just going to let it go. If I was completely blind people would understand. If I had 20/20 vision there would never be a problem. But when you depend on other people because of something no one can see. HOW DO you explain a vision problem so someone can understand? I have no idea....

Trying to get sympathy? You make me laugh! No sympathy for you. :bonk:

Your vision has nothing to do with your tantrums. You're vision is not the problem. Your ego is the problem! :bonk:

C'mon! Admit it. :innocent: You made an a$$ of yourself. Your EGO got the best of you. You threw a fit :ranting: because you didn't get what you wanted :protest: and you felt embarassed  with mom and dad watching.

This is funny. You said that you are unaware that you are not allowed to get inside the SLEC building where in fact you posted the letter you got from SLEC weeks ago and there are people (including myself) who said that you can't enter inside the building due to ample space. In case you forgot, here's the link:

That's the link I was looking for and mention in my response early in this post. My comment is in there that he should expect to wait outside.
