We received our NOA1 on 22nd September. The waiting is so hard...at three month mark now and despite numerous attempts of working out a timeframe...I think its safe to say Im stumped! Good luck all (L)

My NOA1 is also Sept 22. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see an NOA2 on Feb 22, supposedly at the 5-month mark. Seems like March/April is more realistic...

Looking at the July numbers, there are still about 24000 cases from that month and they only processed around 975 in the last 2 weeks. This is very disheartening. At this rate, it will take 2 years just to get to cases from August. I hope things pick up soon and progress is faster. I don't expect to get NOA2 by the 5 month mark but I would really like it by month 6.

Also it was interesting to see that the VJ timeline prediction changed today from something between Jan 31st and April 6th to December 19th and March 13th. how did that change come about?

Yeah...looks so promising... it says in our timeline, our petition will be adjudicated between nov 7-jan 22... that's a few days from now and by the looks of it... it's not going to happen.

The VJ timeline prediction is getting closer and closer now it says for me between Dec 237rd and March 1st. What is the reason for this change? looking at Igor's list, there haven't been that many NOA2 for IR1/CR1 recently.

Hello everyone!!

I can't believe I didn't know about this forum before. I found you all last night. My husband and I parted the beginning of August and long story short we received our NOA1 for the i-130 was September 15, 2011.

I signed up for the time-line today and it says at the bottom that the dates are November 11, 2011 through January 25, 2012. Does this mean that we could get our NOA2 by the 25th?

I do have two other questions. Where can I find or what documents do/can we prepare while we are waiting for the NOA2? Also, I see that I need to get a tax transcript from the IRS. The only thing is that I was working overseas up until about 7 months ago (for 7 years). Any suggestions?

It's great to know that this support group is here. It made me feel so much better knowing that there are other people to talk to!

Thanks for your help.

Brandy

Those estimates are based on timelines entered by VJers. Lately there have been a number of December petitions that have been approved. This has skewed the numbers to show faster than what is really happening. There are a lot of July filers who are still waiting for their NOA2. Remember that these are just estimates provided by visajourney.com. If you were to call USCIS they are officially working on applications received on/after June 16, although one user posted that they were told that CSC is currently working petitions from the first week of July.

Thanks very much for your response. I wonder, I have not called the California Service Center once since receiving the NOA1. Is it acceptable to call them? I was under the impression we are not suppose to call until after the 5 month mark. Is this true? Has anyone called before this time mark and did it help move your petition forward? Is there a specific phone number to call?

Thanks again for any information provided.

From others experience, calling them is okay but you wont get much in terms of a firm date of approval. Calling them does not seem to speed up the process, wait to you get to the 5 month mark and perhaps get a local congressman to call...that may speed it up, it may not. You may just have to wait. :crying: It's not fair we are all still waiting but hope is still strong

You need to complete the DS-230, which may be an excellent idea to start in rough now. You'll need details of previous visits to the US which you'll need to look up. You can find the forms you need on the internet, containing guidance notes. You need to also get a form to elect your representative (legal or yourself or spouse) and you can complete that now too. You can find the next steps on the internet and I think this site has all the documents stored somewhere with examples of how to fill them out. You can prepare all you need and that will not only pass time but make you feel more organised too. :star:
